Your right it's mind boggling stuff. Plus the a league is on Sunday for small panels that's a killer on club. The club player is dirt in there eyes

We are fixed for 4pm. Like most lads at college I work Saturday day time. Reco is right - club player down the list and the B player is even further down the foodchain. In the meantime we have no football game this weekend and the county is off seasiderblues (Meath) - Posts: 262 - 13/02/2019 16:49:45 2165170 Link 1 |
In fairness to the CB B league has to be started so don't see what else they can do unless they have no A league and just play B league next weekend. sam1996 (Meath) - Posts: 436 - 14/02/2019 08:10:30 2165235 Link 0 |
That is not a coincidence either. Just in case god forbid clubs had their county players available. Dublin clubs have round 1 league games this weekend and county players are available to play.

I like the aspect of A and B leagues on the same weekend as it provides everyone in a squad with meaningful game time on the same weekend, however I do understand that this puts pressure on smaller squads, although I think more football for individuals/teams is only a good thing. The one change I would make is I would play the A League first on the Saturday and the B League on the Sunday as players may be wary (not allowed) about playing a B League game the day before a important A League game and risk injury. The timings of games from the county board is mind boggling though. Three o'clock on a Sunday is not the time for league games this time of year as that is your entire Saturday and Sunday down the drain for one game. If it were up to me there would be no games on Sundays at all and instead have A leagues on Fridays and Saturdays and give players the chance to then enjoy there weekends. And as the day light increases throughout the year have games mid week.

I agree on 95 percent of that but very hard on small squads.midweek games yes I would b up for that.you should send your plans into co board maybe they take some advice from it.

I was told 3pm games were to allow county players time to get back from cork to play with club

Hey do you know that the hurling leagues are played this way and have been done so for years and do you know what ... there is no moaning

No because the hurlers are too busy moaning about everything else and too busy dealing with that massive chip most of them carry on their shoulders
