I read into it what i stated previously. The league in Meath in now a meaningless competition. Too many games played in mudbaths without county panelists.

I agree, I wouldn't be paying much attention to league results at the start of the year.

For Example

Wolfe Tones bet Ratoath by 6
Simonstown bet Wolfe Tones by 18
Ratoath then bet Simonstown by 14.

if your looking at ratings on current form on the players they have there is no way you can rate simonstown as the number 1 team in the county, there is genuine signs there that they are on decline, I know it's early in the year but the departure of Colm o rourke along with a Heavy defeat to ratoath when both sides had more or less their first team out, aswell as the fact that it seems Brian conlon was way overhyped as he got a roasting last week against ratoath and was non existent against Cavan (possibly our worst performer on a very bad day) these facts suggest there is no way simonstown will get near another keegan cup and therefore should not be number 1 on these ratings

Truth be told they over achieved in past few years. Fully deserved their win in 2016 when playing good football and they had a little bit of luck which is always needed. They were well below their 2016 form last year but the standard is so low that they still came out on top

I would disagree with this tbh, they played last year with great belief following the win in 2016, Nash was a huge addition for the knock outs and it could be argued that if he had been available they could well have won a Leinster, True Dunboyne totally blew up in the second half against them but they didnt give in when previously they would have. The few times I seen them last year they always looked in control of games, even when they score was tight. They will struggle to win 3 in a row though, Shane O'Rourke is a massive loss, they (and anybody else) will struggle to adjust without him, Ratoath should be coming of age this year, Dunboyne will be there abouts also

They over achieved? I think they haven't lost in 14 games in the Meath Senior championship and they competed better than any team in Leinster in the last number of years
They will be hard bet this year again

Who would you have number one then?

I remember people saying "No chance of Siminstown doing 2 in a row" this time last year also.. yes O'Rourke looks to be gone but nearly every other player is reaching their prime in their starting 15 Kane McGrath Gallagher O'brien Etc

Very well said, analysis is extremely bitter towards that club for whatever reason
