New Meath senior hurling management team

(Oldest Posts First)

If new Management team is true this will be fantastic for Meath hurling. Nick Fitzgerald has done excellent work with Meath Development squads over the last few years and along with Kildalkey underage and Adult success which he's being involved with. Add the boost of Martin and Michael joining the new set up it could really kick on Meath Hurling to next level. Time for clubs, hurling people and Countyboard to back this set up.

Two unsung heroes on one of the greatest teams of all time. Anyone have an idea of what their credentials are outside of playing?

Have they managed/coached anywhere before?

this is great news. nick fitzgerald is perfect type for inter county manager... committed, passionate, good organiser and will have the respect of dressing room instantly. backroom team is a huge statement. Don't know much about the strength and condional coach? issue for management will be getting all the best players in the county to commit i feel. Are the Kilkenny men selectors or what is their role?

Michael Kavanagh has been with Wicklow underage development for a couple of years now ,not full time but has been coaching there ,shrewd hurling brain & definitely a big asset on the line ,Martin Comerford ,I'm not sure if he coaches but wouldn't surprise me if he was at least involved in his own club O LOUGHLIN GAELS underage ,again a good Hurling brain ,nice character & calm influence, two dam good choices here I think ,Drive on Meath Hurling

Ciaran Mcdonagh the s & c coach was involved with meath footballers in Mick O Dowds final year. As far as I know he was heavily involved in Rathoaths success in the intermediate football also.

Is this set up a done deal. Because it looks impressive but expensive our county board may not go for it.

Well hope he does better job than with the footballers as they were really unfit
