Today was all about championship silverware with the Ulster and Munster senior football finals taking place as well as the Christy Ring and Nicky Rackard Cup deciders in hurling.

In a repeat of last year's northern showcase, holders Donegal met Cavan in an unforgettable Ulster SFC final at the Athletic Grounds at 4pm. Earlier in the afternoon, at 1:30, Pairc Ui Chaoimh was the venue for a remarkable Munster SFC final between Cork and Tipperary.

Meanwhile, Croke Park provided the setting for the third- and fourth-tier All-Ireland hurling deciders: Donegal and Mayo contested the Nicky Rackard final at 1:30 followed by the clash of Down and Kildare to determine the destination of the 2020 Christy Ring Cup at 4.
