Two provincial finals and three semi-finals went down for decision on this day of days in the 2020 football and hurling championships.

Arch rivals Galway and Mayo faced off in the Connacht football final at Pearse Stadium (1:30), while holders Limerick locked horns with Waterford in an absorbing Munster hurling final in Thurles (4pm).

There was a huge Leinster football championship semi-final double bill at Croke Park featuring Meath V Kildare at 1pm and holders Dublin against Laois at 3:30.

And, at the Athletic Grounds at 1:30, comeback kings Cavan met Down for the right to take on Donegal in this year's Ulster SFC final.
