Poor decision making cost Kerry - O'Sullivan

Former Kerry captain Darran O’Sullivan reckons the Kingdom’s poor decision-making throughout cost them against Cork last Sunday.

Peter Keane’s men crashed out of the All-Ireland SFC race after Mark Keane’s late goal at Pairc Ui Chaoimh booked the Rebels a place in the Munster final and sent their neighbours packing in the process.

Speaking to RTÉ 2fm's Game On programme, O’Sullivan felt as though Kerry may have taken Ronan McCarthy’s side for granted.

"The pressure that they maybe felt, or the lack of pressure on Cork, definitely told," said the four-time All-Ireland winner.

"People have been talking about how defensive Kerry were, the setup, and the personnel they had in certain positions. That's always going to be up for debate but I don’t think anyone could have accounted for how many of the Kerry lads played poorly or within themselves.

"It’s an awful thing to say but I think a lot of them were looking past Cork. The decision-making throughout was poor and that’s all down to concentration, mentality.

"Going into it they must have known the conditions weren’t going to be great, that Cork had nothing to lose. They weren’t going to let them play."
