Longford V Meath - 18 Like(s)
It'd be great to see an upset. To see one of the minnows have their day in the sun and give a little joy to the long suffering fans but I just can't see it I'm afraid. Longford by 2.

Eoghan O'gara - 18 Like(s)

Replying To Themall1916:  "Ronan O'Gara was a fine rugby player won a few triple crowns a grand slam and two Heineken cups happy retirement Ronan."
I'm sure Ronan's a great lad and all the rest but he never buried a goal into the Hill to finish off the Kingdom in an All-Ireland semi final.

"Why Should Anybody Have The God-Given Right To See All Games On Television?" - 15 Like(s)
Complete straw man argument Wayne imo. Disagreeing with the Sky deal doesn't equate to believing everyone has a right to watch every single game on TV.

Andy Moran retires - 15 Like(s)

Replying To Aibrean:  "Andy was good but Cillian O Connor the highest scorer of all time, FGS!"
By your logic that makes Cillian O'Connor a better forward than Gooch, Maurice Fitzgerald, Peter Canavan, Pat Spillane, Matt Connor etc.......

I'm 'fishing' and you took the 'bait', 'amn't I so clever' schtick is a fairly tired way of putting up an unpopular and inflammatory opinion and then not having to have the ability or intelligence to defend it. Royaldunne's pro-Loyalist persona is part of his character by now on here but he's always 'trolling' when replied to for some reason.

The Corona Virus And Possible Effects To GAA Matches - 14 Like(s)

Replying To royaldunne:  "You ok with the treatment of Maria Cahill? Aine Adams?? Call me Arlene all u like. I will never defend abusers. Unlike u it seems. Btw how do u feel about a sf elected member defending people who have brought parts of Dublin to its knees?? U ok with that too ?? Obviously"
That's some leap of logic you've made there. Although I don't think logic is quite the correct word to use. I make a little joke, one based on your pro-loyalism/unionist views, and you equate that with me defending abusers? That's not a good look for you to be honest. I've no idea what you're talking about in terms of the rest of your post if I'm honest. It's all a little incoherent to be fair. So because I make a little joke about you being a unionist/loyalist, which to be fair is consistent with your views expressed on here about the North, and suddenly I'm a defender of sexual abuse? Seriously man that's a really low and scummy thing to post about another poster in my opinion.

Replying To legendzxix:  "There was a time only the semi-finals and finals were shown live. People who were not attending the other games listened to the commentary on the radio. Radio coverage is still available."
There was a time when people didn't have electricity in their houses too.

Replying To GreenandRed:  "Good question. Don't have a clue. Vaguely or wrongly remember John Maughan taking a few kickouts in his brief career. Apologies for cutting across your question but I've a goalie one. Who was the first goalkeeper to score a goal and a point in an intercounty senior football championship?"
He might not have been the 1st but I'm pretty sure Shane Curran has scored 1-1 in a Champo game for Roscommon.

Two Different Sets Of Rules - 11 Like(s)

Replying To gaelicgab:  "Diarmuid O'Connor receives a straight red card for an elbow on Paul Conroy last weekend. John Conlon commits a very similar offence on Daniel Kearney today and walks away with just a yellow card. I'm not sure if the referee even awarded a foul for Conlon's challenge. The linesman pulled him up on it afterwards. Two different sets of rules for football and hurling it seems."
It's almost like they're different sports.

Is Ashbourne The New Ballaghaderreen? :) - 11 Like(s)
Menton came across a little silly and petty to be fair. The Credit Union is a community based organisation that put up a post congratulating the Dubs because they know that a lot of their members are Dubs living in the locality. Also I'm sure that the Ashbourne Credit Union's catchment area extends into North County Dublin as well to around the Rock's homeplace in Ballymadun, Co. Dublin, so Menton's rant looks fairly ill-informed for a man from the locality.

Should Westmeath V Dublin Be In Mullingar? - 11 Like(s)

Replying To Richieq:  "https://www.balls.ie/gaa/westmeath-dublin-418377 Leinster Council already bending the knee on this one and chairman Jim Bolger has said that it's more or less decided that O'Connor Park in Tullamore will be the venue and that a 11K capacity at Mullingar doesn't do it for them, what utter tripe from these supposedly educated administrators, once again they put equality, fairness and benefit to the local community to one side using health and safety as a convenient excuse, Westmeath may as well flog Cusack Park off for housing and many other counties may as well follow suit if that's the case, this is just beyond farce here at the minute, a soccer club with tens of thousands of season ticket holders can be drawn away in the FA Cup to a ground with a capacity of maybe 6 or 7K and yet here a county with at most 4000 season ticket holders can't play in an 11K capacity stadium in a provincial competition that is dying on its knees and at least needs a degree of fairness in its fixtures to make up for its lack of competitiveness, at times I really don't understand how these sheep are still in charge of running our games"
I totally agree that the game should be in Mullingar. However the season ticket comparison to soccer, which I've seen crop up , is a false equivalent. A soccer season ticket in any league entitles you to entry to all your home league games. It does not entitle you to any away league game, any away cup game or even any home Cup game. Everyone knows this when they purchase their season ticket. The GAA season tickets are sold with the guarantee that you will be able to get a ticket to any League or Championship game that your county plays. It is a different thing from a soccer club season ticket. Everyone knows this when they buy their season ticket. Now that isn't to say that there can't be a work around but the comparison with soccer season tickets does not hold up as soccer season tickets are sold with different conditions to GAA ones.
