Sympathy
Magheracloone Mitchells would like to offer its sincere sympathies to juvenile player Corey Doogan and the Doogan family, Clontrain on the death of Paddy Doogan last week. May he rest in peace.
Volunteer of the Year
Keith has been nominated by the club for the Volunteer Recognition and Appreciation scheme 2020. This is an accolade that Keith thoroughly deserves.
2020 has been an extremely hard year for the whole population of the country but here in Magheracloone Keith made it a bit more bearable for many. He was nominated to be our Health and Wellbeing officer this year and he hit the ground running.
Before lockdown Keith was in the process of getting Philly McMahon and Oisín McConville to come and talk to the community about mental health, addiction issues etc. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 this did not go ahead but hopefully in 2021 it will happen.
During our first full lockdown, Keith orchestrated the distribution of the hugely welcomed dinners from Kerry Foods for those cocooning and the vulnerable in our community. This was hugely appreciated by all that availed of it.
Not forgetting our younger players, Keith came up with the excellent idea of sending a postcard to each juvenile player from the club. Each postcard was signed by their juvenile coach and had a personal message for the player. This was a huge hit with our juvenile players and something they will treasure for a long time.
In a year where we all needed a bit of positivity, Keith duly obliged in his role and the club has been very appreciative of all his efforts thus far.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Gavin and Helen Doogan on the birth of baby Tommy last week. Hopefully he'll be sleeping through the night before Gavin starts back training!!
