Replying To royaldunne: "I'll totally disagree with you on Graham Reilly (also all star nominated) he was very well marshaled v Tyrone, which the top teams do. It's a known fact take Graham Reilly out of Meath team and they easily beat. Said by Kildare management after the semi final win over us." If we play Wicklow or Wexford then Graham is the man

Meath V Tyrone - 17 Like(s)
Replying To atta: "Royal Dunne How can you be so blind. I believe that Mcentee should see out his tenure but he would need to take a good hard look at himself in light of his carry on towards the Referee on saturday. Passion my backside, Sean Boylan never confronted any official. He is also supposed to be a leader and a disciplinarian. Ignoring the fact that a heap of lads walked away in April after the bulk of the heavy work was done just dosent add up. In his first league campaign we were close to promotion but since then with the exception of Donegal last year and Tyrone this year we were dreadful. Awful to watch. Could have been relegated except for Down and Louth were a complete shambles. We do not have a decent defensive system, Tyrone should have bagged 4 or 5 goals in the first half despite the f act we had 14 men in our own half. Give him his final year, I sincerely hope he can make decent progress next spring and summer. For now the project has not ignited and all his targets set by himself have been missed. Failed to get promoted either season and no where near the super eights." Agree, look at Derek mc grath after his team were at the wrong end of one of the worst calls in the last 10 years with the ghost goal. After longford match it was the referee that was the problem and now after Tyrone it is the referee. If we did manage to win on Saturday Tyrone would be pointing to the terrible decisions given against them. Ref was very poor but gor both sides. No one has mentioned yet Eamon Wallace's attempt from stand side into town goals which. Barely made the 13 metre line. Bryan menton also had a hail mary attempt, brennan's free which hit post. These are the things we should be looking at and not crying over ref

Replying To GlasgowRoyal: "Honestly think we must have some of the most impatient and deliberately obtuse fans in the country. Last year was disappointing, no disputing that, but we've moved into an era where there are pressures on county managers that even Sean Boylan didn't have to contend with. It's hard to get consistency and continuity when the panel available changes every year. We seem happy to have a revolving door approach to management too. A few bad results for O'Callaghan if he were to succeed Andy and you'd have people on here baying for him too. Sometimes a little bit of faith can go a long way." For the record i agree aanager should be given 3 years, but there should be positive signs in year 2

Replying To royaldunne: "20 is good value imo. I mean what the hell will 20 quid get you? Nothing. A good day out. As I said the season tickets are great value if you travel to all the games like we do. And then ticket prices don't matter." Watching 14 men behind the ball playing defensive and with fear of making an error is not my idea of a good day out. There are an awful lot of people to whom €20 to watch that type of stuff is a non runner. It is not the Meath co boards call though. Take for example the option of € 20 to watch Dublin V Kerry or €20 to Watch Meath V Fermanagh...... hardly the same product. I do expect a good crowd in Navan next Sunday but they will want to see positive football which would in turn get the crowd behind the team. The last few years has been like a morgue in terms of atmosphere in navan.

Replying To royaldunne: "Classy. From a guy who thinks those that turned their back on county should be groveled to to come back. And make a classless attack on a man who has given everything to his county. Very classy of you." Never suggested begging anyone to play, no point in going begging after alienating them in the first place. As for classless attacks, show me where i attacked the man ?? You are still regularly slating the management team of a few years ago including the great Trevor Giles, a man that can handle himself in a manner befitting county management. Good luck to all on Sunday, a win will see us in bonus territory this year. We owe Colm Nally a lot

Replying To royaldunne: "Donal keoghan, graham Reilly, micky burke , stephen bray Kevin Reilly. Hard to take one out of those." To put biggy in that list is jaw dropping.. i would have Menton ahead of him. Bray was outstanding and if any of he, Joe Sheridan, Cian Ward or Brian Farrell were in their prime now we would be in a great position. Keogan just gets nod for consistency and longevity

Replying To WhyTheLongFace: "If we played like we did last night all the time we would be planning for life in division 1 next February ...we need to just have that consistent performance all the time.
I would probably be happy enough to give Andy Mcentee another year as manger! Maybe freashing things up a bit in his backroom with new faces a Graham Geraghty or John Mcdermott ...also a new couching staff to take the pressure of Andy and different ideas always helps." Do you honestly believe that last nights performance against an average Tyrone side (when at full strength) with the players they were missing is div 1 standard. The lads gave everything last night and fair play to them but we are still a long way off anywhere near a div 1 side.

Replying To royaldunne: "Full credit goes primarily to Andy McEntee, the likes of you is what's wrong with Meath football." Reco made a valid point and you jump down his throat cos it doesn't fit with your one tracked agenda. Definite improvement in Meath and players are being given continuity this term, last year if a player did something like make an offensive run from deep he would be hauled off as it was defence at all costs. Great to see Campion, Devine. Thomas O Reilly, Lavin all making their mark. Need tougher competition from bench.

Replying To Belt: "€20 in to league games is a bit steep thought €15 was fair.
This will push the price of championship games up too no doubt" Prices up equals attendances down, and this rings true more so for Meath at the minute as the type of football being delivered is not the most entertaining

Just hope Summerhill show up this year, they are a great traditional club who get the best out of what they have. The club have given youth a chance and are reaping rewards. They will be up against it with Dunboyne having been knocking on the door for past few years. Anyone know why there is a two and a half hour gap between minor and senior ?

Replying To numberedjerseys: "Janey a few years ago anyone that sneezed it was Micko's fault they left the panel. Now it seems the "reports" are there are lots of drop outs of course none is due to McEntees....... Fact is lads have lives to live and can do as they like.... Can it be seen as a lack of commitment in this day and age I dont think so. The expectation on commitment is massive, the expectation on success is minimal. Can it be seen as lack of ambition due to the Dublin factor ....Maybe.... But at the end of the day can it be seen as one of the reasons Meath are now well done the pecking order....Yes.... The players arent there to start and the few that are appear to be going away" Agree completely

Face Facts Worst Meath Team In Years - 14 Like(s)
Replying To bdbuddah: "Heard this comment a lot of times, when we lost to Limerick and were 20 points down at one time. When we scraped to survive under Banty in division 2 and again when we were relegated to division 3 the following year. When Dublin absolutely hammered us a few years ago, when Westmeath beat us (after a second half collapse) and then when the same thing happened us against Derry. We actually have a lot of bad times in the last 10 years or so. For me this year has not yet proved as bad as MOD's last 2 years (although it might yet)" From a spectators point of view, you could watch meath playing football under MOD, the current setup is depressing to watch. You could hear someone coughing in the stand such is the lack of atmosphere
