There might be a reasonably accurate updated fixture planner on the way shortly for the rest of the year? It worked well for the start of the year and has only become not relevant the last couple of weeks? mawmouther (Meath) - Posts: 109 - 19/06/2017 09:57:24 2001626 Link 0 |
All gone wrong for the fixtures committee. Earlier this year the county was lauded as one who had a well operating system in place, compared to other counties. Since then it's become a farce. The planner has totally gone out the window and no one has a clue when they are playing next. GoalsWinGames (Meath) - Posts: 299 - 19/06/2017 14:58:29 2001890 Link 0 |
Planner says no championship but low and behold jnrs now have to play without managers players it full on joke no respect from our fixture makers. Reco (Meath) - Posts: 419 - 19/06/2017 15:58:05 2001932 Link 0 |
I thought it was a reasonably good guide for the first half of the year for something that was released months ago. With meath football team in qualifiers, hopefully we will get a new planner in the next couple of weeks that let's us know how it will roughly pan out fixture wise. mawmouther (Meath) - Posts: 109 - 20/06/2017 23:20:37 2002865 Link 0 |
In fairness to the fixture makers, how can they plan for anything 6 months in advance when Meath's games are only scheduled a week or 2 in advance? At the time the planner was made the only thing set in stone was that Meath would play a Leinster quarter final on the 4th of June, how could they plan a whole summer's worth of fixtures around that? we all know its a near impossible job but why even try to make it past June. This is just frustrating people even more. A planner should have been made up to meaths first game. After this it should be stated that there will be no championship until meath are knocked out. By releasing a planner and then going back on it is more frustrating for players who have holidays booked. sam1996 (Meath) - Posts: 436 - 21/06/2017 16:12:42 2003127 Link 0 |
They used to do it in 3 month stages and to be fair tried it for 6 months and stuck to it till mid June. It seems bringing forward the Leinster semi by a week really caused the problem as well as the moving of Leinster JFC to a Sunday I think it was drawn up with the best of intentions but Leinster caused the change which was probably the worse time of year to have to do it Brownepat (Meath) - Posts: 463 - 21/06/2017 22:29:21 2003301 Link 0 |
They have to put up a fixture planner now. They should have it up by tomorrow, you would think, otherwise its awfully bad. They should have had everything in place and have been prepared for when Meath went out. rightthere (Meath) - Posts: 128 - 10/07/2017 12:13:24 2013902 Link 0 |
I'd expect to see it sent out tomorrow. Royal_Gunner (Meath) - Posts: 534 - 10/07/2017 12:21:57 2013913 Link 0 |
Not rocket science,i presume they have one ready since last week with the possibility of been knocked out however as usual they will leave clubs hanging till the last minute.

Championship fixtures out but no updated fixtures planner for the remainder of the year... Royal_Gunner (Meath) - Posts: 534 - 12/07/2017 09:06:56 2015390 Link 0 |
That is terrible. They should have the fixture planner ready. rightthere (Meath) - Posts: 128 - 12/07/2017 12:02:34 2015489 Link 1 |

True but who is to blame more football league games and hurling league games than ever there was. When the board got Liam Keane in to change it all was good but then the clubs decided no that was not the way to go. Instead the result was more games with the advent of playoffs and league semi finals. This is good but only in context with less championship games so the result was the status quo remained but additional games added in... so more congestion Clubs are to blame and change must come numberedjerseys (USA) - Posts: 347 - 21/07/2017 11:36:27 2020458 Link 0 |
The championships in both football and hurling have to be changed. Less games thus more quality in championship needed and this will add some competitiveness to it. Plenty of league and cup games to keep players happy, spread them out more and start champ after county teams exit, then every player knows when champ will start and finishing champ on time will be easier with less games. I see County Final 29th October but looking a fixture plan there is no chance or perhaps need to play it earlier. Brownepat (Meath) - Posts: 463 - 10/08/2017 09:47:02 2031853 Link 0 |
Totally agree its like the powers that b are punishing the clubs now.has to b that cause there is no sense to what's going on.league more less finished challenge matches if you can get one all round now.dual players will b flogged to no end.

Absolute disgrace that the county board cant stick to the fixture planner. Giving clubs 6 days notice. Absolutely ridiculous. No respect for players. Putting hurling matches on football weekends and vice versa. benn (Meath) - Posts: 25 - 28/08/2017 13:45:17 2039324 Link 0 |
