Best game of club football I've seen in a while last night in Trim, will Simonstown finally do it this year? Once again I was impressed with their number 6 and 7, Conlan and Kane, Barney123 (Meath) - Posts: 676 - 09/10/2016 08:33:51 1924162 Link 11 |
And bet they were, good lad ;).

Nash really got the better of Ronan Jones. I expect it to be the other way. Simonstown size around the middle killed Dunboyne and was the winning of the game

Nobody from Dunboyne was particulary impressive, I was expecting Dunboyne to be better. Another great game in Trim this evening. Kells were impressive, should be great semi-finals next week. Barney123 (Meath) - Posts: 676 - 09/10/2016 20:16:56 1924283 Link 11 |
Don't think Jones was fit to play but at that stage it's do or die. Nash is an absolute rolls royce of a player though, what an asset he would have been for Meath. Very disappointing for Dunboyne we didn't do it when it really counted this year but full credit to Simonstown. Colm O Rourke is clearly an exceptional manager also and don't think there'd be many that'd begrudge them a Keegan as unexpected it might have seemed, fair play. dunboynelad (Meath) - Posts: 198 - 10/10/2016 04:38:55 1924353 Link 0 |
Are the winners of Meath likely to make an impact in Leinster this year lads?? 11jm11 (Kildare) - Posts: 345 - 10/10/2016 11:51:49 1924443 Link 0 |

Wasn't a classic but Simonstown deserve to be in the final. Kells lost an awful lot of ball from their own kick-outs and their marking was poor. Simonstown should have won by a lot more considering how much of the ball they had. Barney123 (Meath) - Posts: 676 - 15/10/2016 18:54:48 1926500 Link 12 |
Who played well generally?

No one it was brutal game, Conlon looked ok early on Nash did ok considering he a minor, Neill Kane did alright fo STG for Kells the 2 Reilly looked useful Simonstown sub Brennan won it for them. Kells should have stolen it at the end Brownepat (Meath) - Posts: 463 - 15/10/2016 19:48:21 1926516 Link 0 |
Not too many stood out today, O'Rourke won a lot of ball in Midfield and I thought Kane was good again, surely he will be given a chance with the county? Mattimoe was good in the first half but went out of it a bit in the second half. I'm not a Simonstown supporter but how is Micahel Brennan not starting for Simonstown?

Another poor game today, should be an interesting final. Barney123 (Meath) - Posts: 676 - 16/10/2016 16:01:54 1926639 Link 8 |
As far as Ash are concerned job done.Really interesting final now, especially as both teams met in the Feis Cup final and the drama there.Whoever wins it will earn it.Hopefully we do it though!

I have to say I've never seen a group of players so down beat after winning a championship semi final, such an anti climax, barely any of the Don /Ash players cheered or celebrated the win. RedMeath12 (Meath) - Posts: 117 - 17/10/2016 10:08:14 1926820 Link 0 |
To be honest they were disappointed with the performance, but it is also a case of job not done yet.You always felt Ash would win the game in the second half, the players probably felt that from a long way off too. They are very hungry to win this championship. It is going to be a huge battle in the final but that is what you want.
