Just back from the castletown / trim game where I just have to make a comment on the refereeing , some of the decisions that were made were unbelievable . Just couldnt believe what I was watching.

Trim 0-16 Castletown 0-8. I see that Longwood beat Oldcastle 3-8 to 1-10. Walterstown beat Ultans 2-22 to 0-10.

How does that quarter finals work in Intermediate?

Ziggy, I wasn't at the game but Oldcastle could have been suffering the effects of an absolute mauling by Trim last weekend.

Ziggy partially that and partially that is was horrendous conditions to play a fast running game. Also missing two lads through injury.

Lads,
Does anyone know the format for QF's in the Senior Championship? Obviously top two from each of three groups qualify. Is there then preliminary QF's involving 3rd place teams and if so is there a preliminary draw already made?

It's very simple.

The top three from Group A go straight to the quarter finals as do the top two from Group B and C. The third placed teams in Group B and C playoff to see who plays the winner of Group A.

Why the top three teams from group A? Works out very badly that way as there's no good teams in that group.

It's been like that way for the last few years.
3rd place team in A goes straight into a quarter.
Everyone knows this before the draw is made.
