hope Cillian is ok, that was some bang he took against Monaghan, hate to see it but I really admire his courage he goes at every ball at 100%.

Some very cocky comments on here. Full of we should be beating the likes of Wicklow and the cliched (no disrespect) to Wicklow..... Look I think you'll win by 5 points after a battle. I really think we have one of the best managers in the country at the helm. Unless there's a sending off or a complete flop this game will be in the balance until 50-55 minutes. We've one really talented footballer in Eoin Darcy at 13. He'll either be quiet as a mouse or be on absolute fire.

I know it wasn't nice to see.
He had a concussion, that's all I heard after match. Now I am not sure what the updated rules are re concussion, is it 10 days without any training?? I could be completely wrong. But if that's the case he might not start or feature.

I agree with you 100%. I have already said championship football is a different animal, and to escape from Aughrim with a 1 point win would be a brilliant result. I expect a battle tomorrow, and quite frankly don't care about performance. Win at all costs

Anyone else watch Cavan v. Antrim? A game not unlike our own upcoming match with Wicklow. Cavan, who are on their day a better side than Meath versus an Antrim side who are likely not as good as Wicklow. This just shows how close these "weaker, lesser counties" can get, and the motivation factor of a knockout championship and the leveller of cold winter days on heavy pitches. Well done to Cavan on getting through but the Antrim team will rue the day. They could have stole the game but for a few very small factors down to their naivety and waning fitness. Class, style, substance didnt come into it. We could likely have a very similar challenge tomorrow and this game should be the template for what can happen to the favorite on-the-day. That being said, looking forward to watching our lads. Up the Royals.

I think some are confident others like myself are more apprehensive but I wouldn't misinterpret confidence as cockiness or arrogance. Given our different league positions and historical championship dominance I can understand where they're coming from even if I disagree myself.

For what it's worth I view this as a very tricky fixture, I think if we perform well then we can come away with the win but Wicklow will quite rightly feel the same way and if we don't perform well then our season is over, simple as that.

Anyway, may the best team win.

Cliches galore in this post. Aughrim being a fortress is a myth they have lost more championship games there than they have won over the last 10 years and throw in the fact there will be no crowd nullifys this mythical Aughrim factor even more. We will by 7 at least

Cavan on their day better than Meath ?? That would be a no from me. Not this year or last either I'd say.

Wouldn't mind many of them. The Meath forum is like the Roman senate. Lots of colourful characters and opinions, back stabbers, sneers, groups, cliques, trolls, headers and spoofers. There is also many very interesting people, who sometimes have these elements in their posts, including myself tbh. I wouldnt change it for the world. Most lads with sense have respect for all opposition and all in all, we're not the worst. Best of luck to the garden county tomorrow and lets hope for a good afternoon's entertainment.

Interesting team announced. Is James McEntee injured? Suprised Harnan not listed on panel. Surely Costello will swap.positions with Ryan. Thought Hickey deserved start ahead of S. McEntee. Morris deserves his start but we possibly lack height in half forward line.

I would expect at least 3 changes before throw in tomorrow.

Hopefully the lads have been going well in training.

I look forward to watching the action tomorrow

Agree with that. I think we will win. But not by a large score.

Best wishes to Andy Bryan and Donal. Big if not seismic proportions of a game tomorrow.

I can't sleep with the excitement of First Round of Championship. Odd to be in November and even stranger not to have the flag flying down to the game.

This could be a close fought game. I expect Meath to win by 9.

Someone mentioned earlier bout Alan Forde. He be a great addition if on the panel. Tigerish half forward.

I can hear rain so expect Meath to go with their traditional hand passing game. Let the ball off quick with lots of waves attacking and playing good intelligent rectangles to open a fifth dimension and bamboozle Wicklow.

HON THE ROYAL!
