so Trim play Kildalkey and Na Fianna play ratoath. By all accounts both qtr finals were one sided from the off, Kilmessan are a poor outfit and i would have expected any of the other 3 to beat them, good progress for Na Fianna with a fairly young team. So who will contest the Jubliee final, Trim and Kildalkey could go either way, think Ratoath will be to strong for the young Na Fianna team, Trim in 3 hurling semi finals, Senior, Inter & Junior 2, club going places. I think the only thing we learned over the weeknd was that the groups of 3 did not leave you left with the best 6 teams in the competition for the 1/4 final stage. hurlit (Meath) - Posts: 312 - 14/09/2020 10:48:00 2291964 Link 1 |
I expect Trim to have Kiltale-like dominance in the SHC within the next decade. The quality of the younger players coming through is exceptional by the looks of it. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1198 - 14/09/2020 11:38:46 2291986 Link 7 |
Great to see trim back near the top of meath hurling. But i have a feeling it's Ratoaths year, they are flying. Trims injury will need to clear up to negotiate Kildalkey, kildalkey look tired from what I've seen of them thus far! Meathgaalad (Meath) - Posts: 120 - 14/09/2020 14:36:12 2292046 Link 1 |

By the looks of it, they have some capable intermediates to step in!

What injuries do trim have? Ratoath are flying in fairness to them but it all comes down to who shows up.

You think there's a chance one of the team won't show up ?

One of the Trim full back line went off with a nasty looking foot injury vs. Longwood. Don't think James Toher played the game either so presumably he's injured.

James Toher , Mickey Cullen and Charlie Ennis all missed the longwood game presumably through injury and Ger Dwane came off. All huge losses to trim and will struggle without. Ratoath's to lose I feel Meathgaalad (Meath) - Posts: 120 - 15/09/2020 17:57:40 2292314 Link 0 |
In rugby it was said "get your retaliation in first".....Trim it seems want to get their excuses in first..... MillerX (Meath) - Posts: 742 - 15/09/2020 21:54:47 2292357 Link 0 |
People seem to be writing Kildalkey off which is a big mistake. I don't think they really put 100% into the last group game with Ratoath as they backed themselves to beat Kilmessan and I think will back themselves to beat Trim as well. Getting top spot I think was more important for Ratoath given the amount of senior footballers in the ranks and the break it would entail. think kildlakey have alot to do to win backto back, very possible but a big ask, capable of beating trim in semi, are they capable of turning around a 15 deficit to ratoath, not sure, that said last year they turned around a 17 point defeat to kiltale, trim will need ennis, dwane and toher back, all to play for still

Toher started for Trim footballers today but went off injured. Looked like the same calf injury he had before the game. He had to be helped off the pitch so there's surely no chance he'd be fit for next week. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1198 - 19/09/2020 22:39:57 2293097 Link 8 |
Trying to remember a season where either trim management or county management havent tried to rush him back from injury only to make it worse. The lad needs wisen up a bit as if he dosnt start saying no and recovering properly his playing days may soon be cut short.

A player of his callibre and in his prime who hasn't played back to back games in a few years now is hard on the eye. Management should have known better yesterday, clearly wasn't right from the start.

looking at how he left the field i doubt it but he has made lazarus like recoveries before, dont think kildalkey will mind either way if he plays or not, given that he is obviously injured

i was 50-50 on Kildalkey v Trim, i think im more 70-30 in favour of Kildalkey now, Trimare very average in backline, i think thats where Kldalkey will get at them, Nicky Potterton and Paddy Conneelly could have a field day with quick ball in. If Trim go behind by 5 or 6 points early on they will drop the heads. dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 532 - 21/09/2020 23:06:16 2293487 Link 0 |
