I see Donegal have received info that they will have 4 home games in Division 1 next year, one of their away games is a trip to Navan, anyone hear of a provisional fixture list for ourselves? It's mathematically impossible to have the 3/4 home/away split across all teams in all divisions. Say the 2 teams relegated from division 1 in 2019 had 3 home games in 2019, and the 2 promoted teams from division 3 had 3 home games in 2019, and also, the 4 teams in division 2 in 2019 that are remaining in division 2 in 2020 had 3 home games. Because they had 3 home games in 2019, you'd have all 8 teams in a division 2 expecting 4 home games in 2020 , which is obviously impossible. We saw this ourselves a few years ago when Meath played Monaghan away 2 years running because we both got promoted in between. That said, if we "take" Cavans place in Division 1 (assuming 2nd in D2 replaces 8th in D1, and 1st in D2 replaces 7th in D1) I think we'll get 4 home games, as Cavan only had 3 home games this year. Want 3 wins. Would love Monaghan (owe them a few) Galway and donegal or Tyrone at home. Think we could win all 3 of them (wouldn't be as confident with donegal though) Kerry dubs will be away and probably mayo away. Fair enough but I'll always disagree with meath having no chance against dublin but I do realise it's a slim one come the summer, I agree with you regarding the funding going into dublin and the gaa will have to act upon it soon, the problem now is it could take the guts of 20 years to fix there mistakes. I had it in my head for some reason that we finished 2nd in division 2 this year. If I'm correct in my assumption that 2nd in D2 replaces 8th in D1, and 1st in D2 replaces 7th in D1 (but I've been wrong before...) we'll actually take Roscommon's place. I never thought that it was a case of "replacing" another team. In my opinion we came second in the division as we lost the final but trying to assign number of home games based on what a team we "replaced" is a bit ridiculous. Meath's 2020 Allianz Football League fixtures: Round 1: Tyrone v Meath (away) Round 2: Meath v Donegal (home) Round 3: Meath v Mayo (home) Round 4: Kerry v Meath (away) Round 5: Meath v Galway (home) Round 6: Dublin v Meath (away) Round 7: Monaghan v Meath (away) Couple of comments and questions on this: * Is home advantage that big a deal in Gaelic Football? Working on the basis that it is an advantage - having 4 away games can't be good! Dublin, Kerry and Tyrone away - probably 3 teams you would struggle to beat at home anyway so maybe from that point of view the draw isn't too bad! I think we could beat Tyrone anyway! I'd be happy having Donegal, Mayo and Galway at home The last game against Monaghan could be critical - they have been on a bit of a slide this year and with a new manager next year could be vulnerable to the drop!!
