Boardsmill after been beaten by eventual winners In the semi final the last 2 years in a row still look very strong contenders to win it this year but also have a youthful team who can potentially go well in Junior grade next year. Junior B has to be kilbride or Boardsmill head4dblackspot (Meath) - Posts: 447 - 12/09/2019 17:28:06 2234829 Link 0 |
Boardsmill seem to be the most consistent of the first teams, Kilbride are decent as well but seem to be just lacking something that makes me think they will be a serious threat to winning the championship. ratlag (Meath) - Posts: 323 - 12/09/2019 17:43:10 2234831 Link 0 |
I've seen both boardsmill and kilbride play and I would go for boardsmill

Off topic slightly, but anyone have any idea when JC quarters are gonna be.....still no sign of them up to and including weekend of 21/22 fixtures released ??? southmeathgael (Meath) - Posts: 709 - 13/09/2019 10:09:15 2234955 Link 11 |
with the new championship structure next year, won't all of the first teams be out of Junior B next year whatever happens?

Yeah everyone gets lumped in to Junior A next year. Bit of a kicker for the likes of St. Mary's or Boardsmill as they'll have no chance of winning a championship for the foreseeable future. I take it that there will be some special arrangement made for St. Paul's, assuming they still field? No point putting them in Junior A when they are absolutely struggling at junior C and division 4 of the B leagues. CastleBravo (Meath) - Posts: 1391 - 13/09/2019 12:10:45 2234987 Link 10 |
St.Pauls might get an influx of Dunboyne lads in !!! Lads who are finding it difficult to make 1st team panels you never know ???

Dunboyne's 3rd team play at a higher level than St. Paul's. So unless there's a lot of frustrated junior Ds in Dunboyne I don't see too many transfers.

Saw Ratoath play against Moynalvey before the Senior Game between the same two teams! Moynalvey were poor so hard to read much into it! The Ratoath team seemed very young bar a couple of grizzled looking older lads and they might find the physicality of one of the first teams hard to deal with. They played a very fast game and were excellent to look at but as I said their opposition wasn't up to much! ASaminthehand (Meath) - Posts: 292 - 13/09/2019 13:22:08 2235008 Link 0 |
Is that like the old system or the first teams still have there own group.how many jnr teams will there b?

Intermediate and Junior are now only for first teams, all 2nd (and 3rd, and 4th) teams will now be in their own set of competitions. There's 54 teams in the A leagues at the minute. So taking out the 36 senior and intermediate teams leaves 18 teams for junior next year. That's also assuming St. Pauls take part, which I'd be surprised at.
