Junior B is starting to hot up. Who are the favourites to win it?

Big game this Friday night with Drumconrath playing Boardsmill. If Drumconrath win they are through and Slane are out. Martin Dawson is appointed to referee it.

Boardsmill after been beaten by eventual winners In the semi final the last 2 years in a row still look very strong contenders to win it this year but also have a youthful team who can potentially go well in Junior grade next year.
Kilbride are up there as hot favourites aswell but look too inconsistent and will need to show up to every game from here on In to win it
Slane just not at the races this year as proven in the first round when it was men against boys v Boardsmill, still fancy them to make a quarter final or semi final but no further
As shown the last 2 years that some 2nd teams are strong enough to win it also, ratoath look very very strong and will go far, Dunboyne, Simonstown and Trim also look as if they can do well.

As far as the games Friday night
Drumconrath v Boardsmill- expect boardsmill to win here and claim top spot, end of the road for drumconrath
St.Marys v Kilbride - Easy Kilbride win against a defeated st Mary's team who have nothing only pride to play for

Yes last game in group stages. Not sure of the pairings for Quarter Finals.

Not that it makes a difference but thought E Barry might have got it but he is doing Kilbride vs St Marys. Credit to county board for bringing through so many new referees in the last couple of years.

Yeah Boardsmill going well this year, could be their year. Can't understand Kilbride, from the little I know about them they don't seem to have any problems with numbers in both senior and underage but don't look like winning a Junior B.

I'd pick Simonstown and Ratoath as the strong second teams but you never know with second teams.

They are well above the rest
Can they meet in the final?
Trim probably the best second team in it
Dunboyne not good enough as this is there 3rd team

Boardsmill seem to be the most consistent of the first teams, Kilbride are decent as well but seem to be just lacking something that makes me think they will be a serious threat to winning the championship.
Trim are putting up big scores alright but are conceding on average 21pts a game......against very poor opposition as well, once they come up against any of the mentioned first teams they will be bet. The second team that looks like the big challenger at the minute is Ratoath, scoring roughly 30 points a game and conceding 7 points. I can't see them losing any more players to the Senior team this year and they look very impressive, albeit against other 2nd teams.

Saw Ratoath play against Moynalvey before the Senior Game between the same two teams! Moynalvey were poor so hard to read much into it! The Ratoath team seemed very young bar a couple of grizzled looking older lads and they might find the physicality of one of the first teams hard to deal with. They played a very fast game and were excellent to look at but as I said their opposition wasn't up to much!
Saw the Slane Kilbride game back in April (feels like last year at this stage!!) - ended in a draw but I thought Slane looked better on the day. Kilbride got the only goal - looks tight enough between Boardsmill, Slane and Kilbride but the fixtures this weekend should see Kilbride go ahead of Slane. I think Boardsmill will beat Drumconrath.

I think Simonstown are the best of the second teams
