Kells looked hot against Seneschalstown but the losers strangely went man on man in bizarre setup. Shipped loads of goals even though they themselves hit 2-11. puzzled by how McConville set his team up. They will be there abouts again Kells Simonstown V Dunboyne and Simonstown continue to impress. Hard to the ball at the back, high tempo and scoring plenty. They will take beating from what I see. Scrin pulled it out of the bag. They could be dangerous knock out stage opponents now . Dunshaughlin lost to Scrin and now play Simonstown . They are progressing but are going to meet probably one of the two form teams next in Simonstown. Summerhill have Na Fianna next . Have to fancy the Hil but it's a derby and Na Fianna whilst they got a lesson from Simonstown bounced back to knock out the Tones . Don't know if they will have enough to beat the Tones. It's. Semi Final perhaps Kells V Scrin and Summerhill V Simonstown Talking_Sense (Meath) - Posts: 209 - 08/09/2019 23:36:44 2233702 Link 0 |
Totally wrong - I was at the intermediate final and it is no more than five years. Longwood won inter last year. Curraha the year before that - colmcilles the year before that and Ratoath won the year before that!

Here - how many years are you guys senior football? I remember you winning intermediate and going to the all Ireland club final - you lost to Bryan Sheehan led team from Kerry. Think it was 2015? How long are you senior hurling? ASaminthehand (Meath) - Posts: 292 - 09/09/2019 00:13:28 2233705 Link 0 |
Think that poster was talking about Donaghmore/Ashbourne, not Ratoath. We won the Intermediate in 2015 by beating Nobber. We won the Leinster intermediate title but we didn't make the All Ireland final. We were beaten by St. Mary's, Cahirciveen of Kerry in the semi. St. Colmcille's made the All Ireland final the next year. This is our 4th year in senior football alright. Third year in senior hurling. Quietly confident that we can get the better of Skryne in the quarter final. Though obviously no one will be taking anything for granted. If we did manage to make the semis, I'd be amazed if we were able to get by Kells as they should have enough for either Don-Ash or Curraha. Agree with you. Better team won no issues with the ref no issues with where we finished in the group. Haven't been up to scratch this year so we can have no complaints. Best of luck to the teams who come out of our group. Delighted for Curraha.

Ashbourne won it in 2007 beating Castletown, Ratoath won it in 2015 beating Nobber. Curragha v Ashbourne in the pre-lim will be a very interesting game, the Ha hitting form nicely at the moment and putting up some nice scores against good teams. Ashbourne not setting the world alight but are still tipping along and getting wins. Either one will prove a good test for Kells in the qurter final. Summerhill v Na Fianna: The Hill have not been as impressive this year as they have the last two, beaten by Ashbourne and 2nd best for the majority of the game against Ratoath, Na Fianna also blowing hot and cold, lucky to beat Curragha early on but then out in a great performance to beat a tough and dogged Tones team. Will be close but ill go with the Hill by 2. Ratoath v Skryne: Can't see anything bar a Ratoath win here, Skryne have been very poor this year up until the Dunshaughlin game where to be fair they put in a solid showing. Ratoath however have to much fire power and one of the best defences in the county. Aslong as they don't revert to norm and drop everyone back in numbers i think they will win this game by 5-6 points. Simonstown v Dunshaughlin: Again have to go with a handy Simonstown win here, back tot he form of 2 years ago and look a very fit, strong and conditioned team. Dunshaughlin have some very good individuals and on there day could cause an upset ut they will need everything to go right for them and a lot to go wrong for Simonstown. Simonstown by 5-6 as well. ratlag (Meath) - Posts: 323 - 09/09/2019 10:04:22 2233752 Link 0 |

How or why have don / ash gone so poor ? hurlit (Meath) - Posts: 312 - 09/09/2019 10:27:14 2233770 Link 0 |
Yeah have to agree Curraha v Don/Ash will be a contest worth seeing I reckon, great to see Curraha playing so well and qualifying and they are playing mighty stuff, remember they were unlucky in their first two games also. Kells seem the form team at the minute and I feel they are going to take some beating although Simonstown seem to be coming good at the right time and Ratoath have beefed up their squad with a few returning players and possibly these three are the best equipped for honours but I would take nothing as a given it's quite an open championship with the teams left.

Curragha v Don/ Ash . Very close game with Curragha to shade it . Kells will have too much for both with a more seasoned team Bear10 (Meath) - Posts: 328 - 09/09/2019 11:35:10 2233794 Link 0 |

O Mahonrys are third in group A, Skryne are 4th so why are Skryne down gor Q Final. The head to heas does not apply as Dunshaughlin also have 6 pts and O Mahoneys have superior score difference ?? Analyst (Meath) - Posts: 1338 - 09/09/2019 13:30:44 2233843 Link 11 |

Supposedly this was a rule that was brought in this year, I have never seen it been used elsewhere. "When there are 3 team level on the same point and one team has beaten the other 2 then they automatically go through, the next two teams is on score difference". juicy (Meath) - Posts: 384 - 09/09/2019 14:00:27 2233853 Link 0 |
Juicy it's not as clear cut as that,it all depends on how many places are up for grabs,in summerhill group score difference was used because th top 3 teams finished on 8 points but in the other group it was for only 2 places 2nd and 3rd so they use the rule you hav stated

Go on to the Meath GAA website (if it is available) and go to information then the downloads centre then county bye-laws and regulations open regulations 2019 and it is all explained in paragraph 3, it's complicated but they have acted as per those regulations.

I was at the Dunboyne simonstown game and met a man from Ratoath. He told me 7 of Ratoath starting team were under 20! Doesn't sound like they are doing too bad with a young crew! Think they will beat Skryne but not sure they will have enough to win the whole thing out! Royalblufill (Meath) - Posts: 284 - 09/09/2019 17:39:40 2233916 Link 0 |
