Replying To dunboynelad:  "I said from day one it's the most open I can remember it and stand by that still, no stand out so who knows. We have never got it going in Dunboyne with missing a few big players this year and just never getting it going really, the last 3 including last I fancied us big time but this year has been different, we can feel relatively lucky to be there at the final day.

Thought today Lenihan was very good, was slow getting back to speed but showed his class today. On a side note Liam Byrne was brilliant today when he came in, genuinely could be a real prospect for the county going forward.

Cilles are a nice team, the way the game panned out it suited them, dunboyne had to try force it and they could pick us off, Lavin was a loss given how the game played out as Conlon is a nightmare, has to be marked so McCoy was a loss in being sacrificed. Had a feeling it would be very close today as did everyone I spoke to so no big shock, sets the last day up for a really big one."
Coldrick cost Cilles today. For a top inter county ref he was very poor. Gave Dunboyne soft frees throughout second half to keep them in touch of Cilles. Where he got 7 mins extra time was beyond me. Cilles played really well especially their defence who have been ridiculed from all quarters across this championship.

Not impressed with Dunboyne......I know they were missing a few but I would rule them out of retaining Keegan this year. I expected this game to be the launch pad for their title challenge. They were blessed to get a draw.

Cilles will be in a play off......they have been very unlucky in all their games but I suppose the table doesn't lie and they probably deserve to be in a play-off .........no one will want to get them though.

Don't agree with u on coldrick. Robbie McCarthy was getting absolutely mauled from minute one and didn't get 1 free . I mean cilles lads literally climbing all over him and the ref just ignored it. Brennan was on a yellow and committed two fouls which were probably both yellows. In saying that we did get some soft frees but so did they. All in all thought he was fair and we both got some soft frees. We certainly were blessed at the end getting 2 scores in injury time but I think a draw was a fair result . Even with the lads we have to come back I'm not sure we're up to the level we were last year and the level required to win a championship. Hopefully I'm wrong.

It wasn't 7 minutes injury time either. Was 5 max and there was plenty of injurys and subs in the 2nd half so it could have been 7

I don't know what Simonstown were at V Curraha (heard the players had been al week in Galway prior to that game ) but they were incredibly impressive in dismantling Na Fianna at weekend. There workrate and flamboyant play was great to watch. Interesting to see can they do it next time out V Dunboyne. If they do they are my pick for the championship

Dunshaughlin hitting form at the right time. Caoimhim still doing the business. In a weird championship we could just slide right in there.

Conlon was brilliant midfield, Na Fianna had a few injuries.
Summerhill or kells will win it out.

the draw for the play offs is already done. Cilles v Rathkenny. Think the Cilles will have enough about them to win that one.

Some weekend in the Senior Championship - I certainly got a few of the results wrong! Very hard to determine which team look the most likely to win it out at this stage.

Group A

Kells and Dunshauglin are in poll position and you would have to fancy both to win their last games against Seneschalstown and Skryne respectively. NOM should beat Pat's who are the only team with nothing to play for in this group. You could end up with a situation here of 5 teams on 6 points!!!

Group B

The question here is who will take 3rd spot. Ashbourne have the best score difference at the moment but with Moynalvey still with something to play for they might put it up to them in the last game. I think Summerhill could give Longwood a right hiding and really boost their score difference. The Ratoath Rathkenny game also looks like a dead rubber as Rathkenny would need some help on the score difference side of things (and perhaps the head to head would go against them anyway) so I think Ratoath will probably win this by a fair bit!

Group C

This is a hard one to call with the key game being Simonstown and Dunboyne. If Simonstown win that Dunboyne could be out! I think Curraha will beat Colmcilles who have nothing to play for. And then I expect a winner from na Fianna Wolfe Tones but no idea which one! That would see 3 teams on ahead of Dunboyne. So it is a huge game for Dunboyne!

As always, I remain confused as to the relegation playoffs. Is it that the bottom 2 teams in each group go into the relegation playoffs. 3 games with predetermined draws with the winners of these games staying Senior and the 3 losers going back to intermediate?

In any event, I expect Pat's and Longwood to go down but not sure who will join them!!

Relegation playoffs are as follows I believe:
5A - 6B
5B - 6C
5C - 6A

At the moment it's
Skryne - Longwood
Rathkenny - St. Colmcille's
Na Fianna - St. Pat's

I think the only likely change after the last round is Na Fianna. It's likely that the loser of their game against Tones will go into the playoff. Nonetheless, I can't see any teams other than Longwood, Rathkenny and Pat's making the drop.

if 3 teams go down, how many come up and what is 2020 structure to senior?

I stand to be corrected but I believe only one team comes up from Intermediate as usual. Next year, there'll be 4 groups of 4 with the top two in each group making the quarter finals and the bottom two in each group going into relegation quarter finals.

Think Scrin are all but out. Even if they win there will be a fair chance 3 teams will be on 6 points but there -20 score difference means they are toast at this stage. O'Mahonys will also be in real trouble if Seneschalstown beat Kells because again score difference of -3 has them in real trouble.

Moynalvey could take Don/Ash on a very good day and if Summerhill and Ratoath both win that will leave Moynalvbey and Don/Ash on 6 points and with head to head Moynalvey would go through. Its big if but its possible. So lot to play for in this game given that Summerhill and Ratoath will win

Group C is very interesting. Dunboyne have got themselves in a right hole. Curraha will probably beat St Colmcilles who have nothing to play for. whilst either Tones or Na Fianna will also end up on 6 points should either win. That leaves the big game of the Round 5 championship Simonstown V Dunboyne. Dunboyne need to win but if they meet the Simonstown team in the flamboyant and hard working form that saw them take down Na Fianna in such impressive fashion then I cant see them winning. and the champions will be knocked out. St Colmcilles could still save them by beating Curraha but for me Dunboyne are in a real spot now. Be interesting to see if Simonstown can keep this form going.

Are you seriously suggesting that Dunshaughlin will win the Keegan Cup
They are an average team at best

Round 5 sure going to be very interesting . For me I would not be surprised if the following big guns all get knocked out in Round 5

Scrin (almost certain, need a miracle)

Dunboyne ( think they have hit a wobble and will come up against the form team in Simonstown at the wrong time. Out as it's hard to see them take out Navan boys on last days form)

Don/Ash. First to 4th with Moynalvey backs to wall and they win and other results put Don/Ash out. Unlikely but possible

O Mahonys . If Senechalstown win V Kells. It's possible and Dunshaughlin beat Scrin or even don't beat Scrin , O Mahonys score difference will see them knocked out

Last 9
Kells
Dunshaughlin
Seneschalstown
Simonstown
Wolf Tones
Curraha
Ratoath
Moynalvey
Summerhill

Still a lot of shadow boxing going on, are Kells and Simonstown peaking too early.
Next round will tell a lot about Dunboyne, Seneschalstown, Tones and Na Fianna they all need to win to stay in with a chance of winning Keegan.
Beano, McKeever and McCarthy would be great additions to the Meath panel and would really strengthen our forward unit. Also Brian Conlon needs to be looked at again, serious runner with the ball.

Curraha have impressed me they caught Simonstown on the hop but to back that up with a hammering of an experienced Tones side shows they have made progress.

I think Skryne and Colmcilles are strong enough to avoid relegation this year but both clubs are in trouble going forward. Skryne seem to rely too much on O Rourke and Campion. Rooney looks very average at club level so I wouldn't even consider him for Meath. Colmcilles are so weak at the back that a strong junior forward unit would make hay.

I would encourage all Meath fans to try make the Simonstown vs Dunboyne in two weeks, everyone will see where Lenihan is at, how good McCarthy is and is it worth asking Burlingham, Conlon and McKeever back in.

As per every game I go to I had the stopwatch on.......it read 37 mins when Coldrick blew it up (or whenever Dunboyne got their equalizer)

And James Conlon wasn't ? He was doubled up on and manhandled as much as McCarthy was. On one occasion McCoy tripped him in the second half 30 yards in front of goal right in front of Coldrick. No free. If Banty had have turned him (which he did all day) he would have been in on goal.

Dunshaughlin are hitting a rich vein of form
and flying under the radar , all talk is about Kells and their forward line
Dont write off Dunshaughlin, With Moyles at the helm, Nestor and Richie Kealy in the back team they have
some of the best football minds in the county and know Meath football inside out
