Well at least you're admitting that your lack of knowledge stems from you literally not caring.

Kells V Ratoath Talking_Sense (Meath) - Posts: 209 - 02/10/2019 10:30:18 2240871 Link 0 |
Very valid points made, think both have potential to be crackers.... one issue though, Nash will play no part in the championship, while he is home and will be for the next day, his contract absolutely restricts him from playing.

Think Ratoath will beat kells with 4-6 points to spare. they have the backs to stop their forwards. overthehill72 (Meath) - Posts: 334 - 02/10/2019 16:52:21 2240982 Link 0 |
What's this about Nash being back?! dorkside (Meath) - Posts: 71 - 02/10/2019 17:46:36 2240998 Link 0 |
The CCC or whatever title they give themselves certainly aren't in a rush to inform players, management and supporters of the exact date their semi finals are on! It is now Wednesday night and still no sign of fixtures announced? This has been going on all year and is actually mind boggling. What is holding up these fixtures being released on a Monday night? I know rugby players in Dublin that know the exact date, time and venue of every match they have from now until next April! In Meath we can't even get concrete fixtures for championship semi finals 7-10 days before them! BigJoe14 (Meath) - Posts: 565 - 02/10/2019 21:19:47 2241052 Link 1 |
Hopefully Nash gives up on the Aussie Rules. Genuinely don't see the attraction of the sport and could never understand why he went anyway, esepcially if he had the option of playing with Leinster while also continuing his studies - no way is AFL more fun to play than GAA or Rugby and its not like he is earning huge money playing it either. If he studied medicine in UCD and played GAA with UCD and Meath, he wouldn't be far off the level of training he is doing anyway. Crinigan (Meath) - Posts: 926 - 03/10/2019 11:09:17 2241122 Link 10 |
He must think differently, thats just your opinion , you are forgetting the lifestyle you can lead in oz , weather etc Do they not have option to study over there? Im sure he looked at all his options and is happy No money in playing football for meath or career long term Leinster option is far more attractive than gaa , and he didnt go for it either. Lucky man to have all these options at his feet hurlit (Meath) - Posts: 312 - 03/10/2019 12:14:06 2241134 Link 0 |
The average player salary in the AFL is close to €200k per year. Now he's probably not making that at them moment but I'd say he's not exactly slumming it given that he's in Hawthorn's main squad. Given his age, I'd doubt he'd be making anywhere near that now if he stuck with Leinster. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1198 - 03/10/2019 14:51:55 2241167 Link 10 |

How can you say Ratoaths game will have done nothing for them against Skryne yet Summerhills win over Na Fianna was 'laying down a marker of intent'?? Both games were over by half time effectively which was a shame as both were local derbys. Both Ratoath and Summerhill absolutely blitzed what was in front of them and for me both signalled that they are serious challengers for the cup, Teams can only beat whats in front of them and they both did that with a level of ruthlessness that should AND will worry both their quarter final opponents. Remember Skryne bet Dunshaughlin woh put it up to Simonstown and Ashbourne bet Summerhill as well.

I think the more telling game was the group game between Ratoath and Summerhill - A one point win for the Hill with a late goal to nick the game. There is nothing much between those two in my opinion! But that counts for nothing if they both lose their semi finals! Simonstown have the best track record over the past few years - winning twice. Summerhill are not far behind them 4 finals in the past 8 years winning it twice in that time. You have to back to 91 for a Kells win - but they have been quarter and semi finalists a few times recently and Division 1 league winners recently too! Ratoath are in their first ever semi final - and are only Senior in the past 5 years! What does all that mean! Probably not a lot at the end of the day! It will come down to 2 games and who performs in them! Royalblufill (Meath) - Posts: 284 - 04/10/2019 15:41:21 2241355 Link 0 |
Relegation - Furze to win by a landslide 2-12 to 0-6 Kells V Ratoath - Pressure on Kells to perform as they have been in I dont know how many Semis and always fall short But I think they have the edge on Ratoath who are lacking a bit of experience Summerhill V Simonstown - We have gotten to the Semis under the radar and people are still talking about Kells and Simonstown , Will be a tough game but I think we have the backs to handle Kells - Hill by 2 summerhillof69 (Meath) - Posts: 215 - 04/10/2019 15:59:56 2241359 Link 0 |
I presume Rataoth have never played in the senior final. When did Kells last make it? Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 04/10/2019 21:44:05 2241418 Link 9 |
The 2 Semi Finals is all about performing on the day . There 1 hour from the County Final. Kells have frozen quite a few times now and it's Ratoaths first semi final. So there is going to be nerves. Difficult to call this game and perhaps Kells might have the better nerves if there is such a thing. The other game well Summerhill and Simonstown are experienced at this level. Summerhill have the bigger tradition too. Again ye can't call this game. I do feel perhaps Simonstown have taken out Na Fianna , Dunboyne and Dunshaughlin whilst Summerhill have taken out Rathkenny, Longwood and Na Fianna In last 3 games. On bare form Simonstown have played tougher teams in the last 3 rounds. Maybe that will be the difference but Nothing much between these two sides I will gamble and go for a Ratoath V Simonstown Final Talking_Sense (Meath) - Posts: 209 - 05/10/2019 01:14:03 2241446 Link 0 |
Two interesting semis. I have zero affiliation to any of the clubs. So just looking forward to two good quality games and hopefully to find a player or two for senior county. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 17035 - 06/10/2019 09:08:35 2241565 Link 0 |
