Sorry I have now on 3 occasions. But it's not getting through. My apologies, I don't know why it's taboo to name the people.

First time poster here so go easy on me.Just want to say how proud I am of this Meath team really brightened up my summer/year.For the first time in many a year I have a buzz about watching Meath in league and championship.the work rate and honesty of the players is a credit to themselves.I went to Donegal in the super eights hoping we would compete didn't expect us to win but with 10-15 mins to go was thinking we could do this and the same in croke park on Sunday v Mayo.In my opinion now I'm no expert but I think we could do with putting the ball into our forwards earlier not all the time mix it up because I think the running game is tiring lads out it might help with the last ten mins drop off but the ball in has to be right if it's to young coillon put into space rolling on the ground even not many players will beat him for pace.we got some joy putting the ball into Walsh early v Mayo.As for Andy Mac yes he can be thick but he deserves the chance in division one and a crack in champo next year huge credit to him.The worry I have is I'm hearing nally won't be around with us next year I know a lad that is close to him and he said nally usually only sticks around for a year or so.i hope I am wrong because I think he has done a great job for us.Looking forward to the Jerry game in navan pity we are out but hopefully we can put it up to them and home crowd can keep the lads going in the last few mins. It sounds to me that Royal Dunne is very close to Mc Entee, I only said 2 lads left the panel before Sunday. He comes back with 2 names that nobody mentioned. Now he is making outlandish statements about media Twitter ect reporting about Reilly pulling up in training. Please Andy give it a rest. latouche25 (Meath) - Posts: 325 - 25/07/2019 00:28:09 2216089 Link 5 |
Or for what would feel like the first time in history on here you could admit you are wrong.

Ah here........we've seen some ridiculous posts on here down through the years but we could have a winner. " how or where have we improved under mcentee" ..... are u serious, you should probably give the old football a miss for a while there lad, cause ya clearly don't know what your looking at. Yes, he should go out and boost the squad, but he favours a certain type player to fit into his preferred system, that's his perogitive as manager whether we like it or not and it has clearly gotten results, my club has a standout player that should be on it, but he isn't.....tough luck......the meath county board has made mistakes in the past, but anything other then offering Andy mc another 3 year extension would be the biggest mistake they have ever made, he'll move on to some other county and improve them, and we'd be stuck with some other ham, there would be a mass exodus as the players are now use to his meticulous professional set up, and others would be very reluctant to join up......yes Andy makes mistakes, All managers do...... we are in a possition we havnt been in in a while, division 1 football and underage talent coming through, the players need and deserve the best man available .... they have it right now. southmeathgael (Meath) - Posts: 709 - 26/07/2019 07:24:20 2216617 Link 16 |
Good man South, throw out some silly comment, so if we have improved the way you say then what's the objective for next year. Survive in div1, win Leinster, make the semi-finals, anything other than that is a backward step. I predict we will be relegated, won't win the Leinster, and won't get to the semi-finals. So this time next year we will be in the same position. By the way 2 lads did leave the panel last week. latouche25 (Meath) - Posts: 325 - 26/07/2019 13:47:22 2216770 Link 2 |
My objectives for next year now would be twofold. Stay in Division 1. Qualify for the last 8. That would be a season of consolidation. Until the Leinster draw is done I won't decide on objectives for it. jackhackett (Meath) - Posts: 765 - 26/07/2019 14:29:46 2216791 Link 3 |
That's next year your talking about,......in your initial post you said we havnt improved this year, how have you come to that conclusion..... ?? Last year: finished 6th in div 2 Lost first rd of leinster to longford Lost first rd qualifier Season over by mid June This year: promoted to div 1 ( first time since 2006) Got to Leinster final Qualified for super 8s Still playing ball into early August Despite your opinion ofmcentee which your entitled to, ya can't really argue with the facts of the matter above lad, how is that not progress????. By the way your massively overstating the standard of Kells players and speculating wildly on their ability to step up to intercounty. southmeathgael (Meath) - Posts: 709 - 26/07/2019 15:12:00 2216805 Link 13 |
Where's the progression in this prediction.

Interesting question - this year, as far as I know, we have yet to beat a Division 1 team. We have lost to Donegal three times and Mayo once. If we lose to Kerry next weekend our year will be over having failed to beat a division 1 team. So - if we managed to stay up in Division 1 next year we will have to have beaten at least 2 division 1 teams. If we can do that I reckon that is progress! Saying that we need to win Leinster to deem it progress doesn't make sense. We could draw Dublin in the first round and I doubt we have progressed enough to win that! If we go into the playoffs - progress would be winning games more convincingly than we did this year!! Anyway - that is just my opinion! I said it would be a season of consolidation. Life isn't a series of progression and regression. Sometimes it's good to consolidate. Realistically staying in Division 1 would be a brilliant start to next year. Getting to the last 8 would back up this years progress and if we managed both of these it would leave us well placed to push on the year after. The key with objectives is that they're realistic. jackhackett (Meath) - Posts: 765 - 26/07/2019 15:46:27 2216821 Link 1 |

Brian Hanlon scored 2-7 Seamus Mattimo 1-3 in the league final. Lar Wall looks like a really good manager. I wonder if he would be interested in the Meath job. Proven winner, very good man manager and a brilliant motivator just what we need. latouche25 (Meath) - Posts: 325 - 27/07/2019 16:37:56 2217137 Link 2 |
Yep proven winner . 1 trophy out of how many available since he's been in charge of Kells. Put the fishing rod away fella.

Let's just give the kells manager the job and pick every kells player possible to keep all the tyre kickers and social media cowards happy. Has it ever crossed your mind that these players that keep getting mentioned from kells have been asked in and turned it down? Or the fact that Mattimoe was in there in Andy's first year but didn't commit again after that. Also Brian Hanlon is 32 or 33 and was involved early doors with Banty's set up and is maybe not interested at his age to play county football at this stage. Are Graham Reilly and Ben Brennan still on the panel or are they gone? BigJoe14 (Meath) - Posts: 565 - 28/07/2019 10:56:13 2217460 Link 0 |
Heard last night they both left the panel but how true that is I'm not sure
