It seems that kiltale have the most members on the board as we all know kiltale have players that play club football for both (moynalvey and summerhill) Sliotar84 (Dublin) - Posts: 12 - 04/07/2019 11:39:48 2205366 Link 0 |
And that can only be for the better

I think the reason so many games are played in Pairc tailteann is that the county board want to keep the total gate receipts for themselves, and the ticketing system in Navan ensures maximum return. overthehill72 (Meath) - Posts: 334 - 04/07/2019 13:04:03 2205413 Link 0 |
Hopefully the county board are working on two new master fixture planners this week. begining (UK) - Posts: 277 - 04/07/2019 14:15:17 2205453 Link 0 |
What a performance by Kildalkey last night. begining (UK) - Posts: 277 - 06/07/2019 07:57:49 2206114 Link 0 |
This is correct as the hurling clubs used to have a bit of a reputation for not handing up their % ,as they had a bit of a chip re the CB which they seen as a football board . Thankfully this has now subsided and this is a throwback to that . noluso (Meath) - Posts: 151 - 06/07/2019 08:03:51 2206115 Link 0 |
You were going on about Nick Fitzgerald refereeing games last week. I cant see where he officiated at any game? Paranoia? Keep to facts and leave fiction alone.

I think Ratoath requested the game to be on Friday as they had lads going on holidays.

No shocks at the weekend, comfortable wins for Trim and Na Fianna. Went to the Boardsmill-Trim game, Trim look very strong (even missing Toher) and have a great spread of scoring forwards now that Mikey Cullen and Peter Farrell are back. no they wont go down, too many good players for that. Kilmessan underage has been poor for 10 years and we are seeing them slide now. overthehill72 (Meath) - Posts: 334 - 09/07/2019 10:31:11 2208334 Link 0 |
Kilmessan wont go down. They should be able for boardsmill and blackhall. Bleak times ahead for them though. Foley91 (Meath) - Posts: 339 - 09/07/2019 10:32:55 2208336 Link 0 |
The past two results against kilmessan have shown maybe just maybe you can win with kids! Meathgaalad (Meath) - Posts: 120 - 09/07/2019 14:59:38 2208482 Link 0 |
Lads, any fear or talk of a planner now that we know football is planned for another few weeks with the Super 8s Theheinoking (Meath) - Posts: 109 - 09/07/2019 16:56:22 2208540 Link 0 |
Doesn't matter the County Board have reduced the hurling championship to the status of a league by clubs having to play without their county players. Disgraceful. MillerX (Meath) - Posts: 742 - 09/07/2019 19:29:00 2208604 Link 0 |
What is going to happen now with the hurling. Would it not be better just shutting it down until the football is over. Foley91 (Meath) - Posts: 339 - 09/07/2019 22:10:36 2208720 Link 0 |
I'd say the hurling will be run off over the next few weeks. If it's not both the hurling and football championships will be going in to October and club players will be left doing nothing for the next month.

I keep it moving to avoid any congestion with fixtures as the year goes on. When you look at the Meath Football team, how many of them actually play hurling. Off the top of my head, I dont believe any of the starting 15 from Sunday play for the clubs. People could throw out Cillian O Sullivan or Donal Keogan but in reality neither play if anything else gets in the way. Even of the subs, Mickey Burke is the only player who I can think of who would be a consistently hurling and even he played on Monday night. With that in mind keep it moving while the weather is good and ideal hurling conditions juicy (Meath) - Posts: 384 - 10/07/2019 09:22:22 2208858 Link 0 |
My point is it is very unfair for the club hurlers to organise any holidays particularly when the fixture committee constantly ignore the proposed holiday break. Add in the u20 and the junior and clubs are being decimated. Particularly smaller clubs who are picking from smaller playing numbers. Those lads are good hurlers but it's been established long ago that hurling isn't a priority for them. Burke is the only one to force the issue and play for his club.
