Agreed Shane Mc struggled today still the best option we have alongside menton. Harnan grew into the game. Struggled early on but got his second wind and was excellent overall and after being out injured that game will bring him on. Backs were immense again i thought. Newman showed great bravery for his goal but still not doing enough in the games. Biggy was invisible when he came on and looked out on his feet pretty much straight away. End of the day got the win. Division 1 and super 8s. Great year

Given the nature of the loss vs Dublin that took real guts to stick in it and grind it out. On another day we don't concede and Harnan buries it and it's more comfortable. Thejoeshow (Meath) - Posts: 468 - 07/07/2019 17:53:52 2207155 Link 0 |
Fair play to everyone involved, division one and super 8's achieved, i thought we kept Clare in the game ourselves by some basic mistakes, Clare never looked like opening us up at any stage, we could have had another goal or two which would have killed the game off but we looked very nervous in the last ten minutes, COS was poor again today, takes the wrong option too many times resulting in breakdown in play, don't know what biggies role was when he came on but he brought nothing to the team, Newman was a big loss when he went off, Mcgill was excellent again but the two biggest players were Harnan and Keogan especially in the last ten when we needed experienced heads, we have nothing to loose now in the next three games so hopefully the boys can enjoy the games and maybe try express themselves more, be great to be in with a chance of qualifying in last game at home to Kerry but i cant see it to be honest, AGAIN fair play to the lads who have battled hard for the county all year and got their rewards. thelutch (Meath) - Posts: 856 - 07/07/2019 18:01:30 2207174 Link 0 |
I thought that today demonstrated guts and a will to win from both the team and management. I know winning on a lovely sunny day against Clare leaves us in a much better frame of mind than a miserable loss in a wet Croker versus Dublin but I'll take that especially as Clare had a few good wins under their belt coming into this game. oldsam_newsam (Meath) - Posts: 638 - 07/07/2019 18:13:55 2207193 Link 0 |
Yes we won but that was another poor performance from our forward division . royalpad (Meath) - Posts: 46 - 07/07/2019 18:31:39 2207217 Link 2 |

I taught it was going to be close. I said I was nervous before the game. I taught Clare where going to snatch at the death fair play to our lads for hold them off. Excellent result this game was always going to be about getting over the line. this just what this team deserves after the getting no luck 2017 2018. So roll on the next 3 games we have not to lose and everything to gain. Well Done. bobkarlgees (Meath) - Posts: 1192 - 07/07/2019 18:44:31 2207234 Link 0 |

Yeah because we've no other alternatives. Flanagan even more out of his depth that shane mc is.

I like James conlon against non division 1 teams, but I cant watch him cough up ball against donegal next week like he did against Dublin I'm sorry, the alternative has to be shane walsh who might be younger but way bigger and stronger, think Newman will be good to go next week

Would start Walsh instead of O Sullivan maybe.trying to let him roam around the middle third in an attempt to bolster midfield. Options are very limited indeed. O Sullivan loosing possession to easily now. Maybe take role as impact sub for a while.
