So super 8s here we come - and I for one accept that roundabout a successful year and the 3 goals set have now been achieved
Not that I believe Andy Mc and the team will settle for that and I wouldn't be surprised to see them spring a surprise on one of the other 3 in our group! Yes we are in a group without Dublin but you can't tell me that Kerry Mayo or Donegal are not one of the top 4 teams in th country!
The game today was highly entertaining- certainly not perfect but what was lacking in skill was made up for in spirit! Some great individual performances too - Keoghan Harnan in particular.

On the negative side - well I am saying nothing negative about this group - but I can already see negative posts coming in! God - the keyboard warriors couldn't wait to get going!!

The lads can relax and go and enjoy themselves now - they will be hard to beat in PT if everyone gets behind them!
Well done to all involved!!!

I withdraw the above statement

Colgans kick outs are killing us ! Harnan did well at 6 and would keep him there ! Good to see that we responded when we were up against it ! Dont see us winning a game in the super 8s ! But hopefully these games bring us on !
Well done to the lads ! I think meath football is back on a upwards curve"
Yes i agree that is a fair and accurate summary.

Agreed Shane Mc struggled today still the best option we have alongside menton. Harnan grew into the game. Struggled early on but got his second wind and was excellent overall and after being out injured that game will bring him on. Backs were immense again i thought. Newman showed great bravery for his goal but still not doing enough in the games. Biggy was invisible when he came on and looked out on his feet pretty much straight away. End of the day got the win. Division 1 and super 8s. Great year

Given the nature of the loss vs Dublin that took real guts to stick in it and grind it out. On another day we don't concede and Harnan buries it and it's more comfortable.

Thought Shane walsh came on and was tidy in possession and kicked his score well. Will press to be on the next day. Conlan is only getting going and looks very sharp. Newman had one of his better days and hopefully grows into super 8s. That could be the future

Goes without saying keogan, McGill, menton and Harnan were fantastic but thought Lavin and Gallagher had good games and McCoy. Goal keeper is a problem that we will need addressed next year

Great year so far and we may spring a surprise yet.

Fair play to everyone involved, division one and super 8's achieved, i thought we kept Clare in the game ourselves by some basic mistakes, Clare never looked like opening us up at any stage, we could have had another goal or two which would have killed the game off but we looked very nervous in the last ten minutes, COS was poor again today, takes the wrong option too many times resulting in breakdown in play, don't know what biggies role was when he came on but he brought nothing to the team, Newman was a big loss when he went off, Mcgill was excellent again but the two biggest players were Harnan and Keogan especially in the last ten when we needed experienced heads, we have nothing to loose now in the next three games so hopefully the boys can enjoy the games and maybe try express themselves more, be great to be in with a chance of qualifying in last game at home to Kerry but i cant see it to be honest, AGAIN fair play to the lads who have battled hard for the county all year and got their rewards.

I thought that today demonstrated guts and a will to win from both the team and management. I know winning on a lovely sunny day against Clare leaves us in a much better frame of mind than a miserable loss in a wet Croker versus Dublin but I'll take that especially as Clare had a few good wins under their belt coming into this game.

Meath were certainly tidier in front of goal. Hard to know exactly where we are but the super 8's are a fantastic opportunity now to compare ourselves against 3 of (possibly) the top 5 teams in the country.

Bring it on, hopefully we will have a great crowd in Ballybofey. I can't go as I have a prior committment but looking forward to the other 2 games.

Yes we won but that was another poor performance from our forward division .
Our backs again stood up very well as
a unit especially McGill , Lavin & Harnon . Keoghan was just immense . Unfortunately Colgan will continue to cost us a couple of give away scores each game but there is no alternative at the moment .
How the Mgt team looked at COS for the full game is a concern . Again he wasted so much ball and it now looks like this just can't be coached out of him so for me a spell on the bench is required . McMahon is too light for an inter county No 11 and offers no real threat against a strong defence .
Hopefully Mewman will be fit and Conlon continues to develop . Would start Walsh and see how he goes . In truth we simply lack 6 inter county forwards at present and we
will have to drive on with what we have .
Still all targets achieved to date and we are in bonus territory so let's hope we can deliver 3 good performance and improve as the series develops .
And for those who don't agree that's fair enough but I have attended every game this year and will be on the road next week as well but have to call it as it is .

I taught it was going to be close. I said I was nervous before the game. I taught Clare where going to snatch at the death fair play to our lads for hold them off. Excellent result this game was always going to be about getting over the line. this just what this team deserves after the getting no luck 2017 2018. So roll on the next 3 games we have not to lose and everything to gain. Well Done.

I like James conlon against non division 1 teams, but I cant watch him cough up ball against donegal next week like he did against Dublin I'm sorry, the alternative has to be shane walsh who might be younger but way bigger and stronger, think Newman will be good to go next week

Would start Walsh instead of O Sullivan maybe.trying to let him roam around the middle third in an attempt to bolster midfield. Options are very limited indeed. O Sullivan loosing possession to easily now. Maybe take role as impact sub for a while.
