The Gaa will want a strong super 8's this year with all this bullshit surrounding Dublin, you can be guaranteed Mayo & Tyrone will be drawn against Meath and Cork. HOT BALLS & COLD BALLS it goes on the whole time. thelutch (Meath) - Posts: 856 - 30/06/2019 12:54:26 2202828 Link 1 |
Was thinking the exact same thing. They want a big turn out.

Agreed re the venues, that been said I honestly don't see us getting beat by any of them, much to gaa hq annoyances. There's a kick in this team. None of them have been let near media apart from graham Reilly (let's be honest he should be well use to it by now) the chronicle farce has only galvanized the players. And they know they he'll lot better than Leinster final. Can't wait. The excitement is building . Can't bloody wait. Bring them on whoever they are royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 17035 - 30/06/2019 14:07:57 2202874 Link 1 |

Has to be Clare. RR (Meath) - Posts: 74 - 30/06/2019 17:07:06 2202982 Link 0 |
After last Sunday this group of players need a win, would be great if that were to be Mayo/Tyrone but in reality Clare are our best chance, Clare may also see us as their best chance to progress also. A summer in super 8s would be good experience for Div One next year and go some way to restoring a bit of confidence. seadog54 (Meath) - Posts: 1432 - 30/06/2019 19:00:51 2203057 Link 11 |
I agree. We could delegate after last Sunday. And deserve a favorable draw geographical as well. I think Portloasie cold be the venue V Clare should we get them. going by recent years we deserve a nice draw.

I dont fancy getting Tyrone I seen them last night they where good made short work of Kildare at home. Not unbeatable but I rather avoid them. I reckon we will have to play them in the north too. Mayo I would be more optimistic of a result. They look all over the place. But they have quality players if they clicked.

I see nothing easy in any of the potential draws, Clare on paper maybe but they would look at us the exact same and after coming out of a tough contest in Mullingar will have a spring in their step. I hope it's not Tyrone I'm sick of the sight of them to be honest and we had them in '13, '15 and last year and whilst we could have won those three games they have a level of cuteness/hoorism we find hard to match up to, Mayo are beatable and the potential loss of Keegan is a big blow to them no matter who they draw, a bit more savvy from Armagh and they could have taken a win there last night. Look if our lads have recovered mentally from the Leinster Final they can match up to anyone, no matter who we draw a good start is important to dispel any lingering hangovers from the Dubs, most people are writing off Meath and see us as the best of the beaten provincial finalists to draw, that's just fine let them keep thinking that way, we need to work on our own performance first and foremost. I've said this before. Dublin and the bigger teams get away with you know what...

What an easy route for Meath to the Super 8s.... Offaly Carlow Laois Clare, doesn't get much easier.. we won't see where we are at until we get to the super 8s overthehill72 (Meath) - Posts: 334 - 01/07/2019 08:47:18 2203229 Link 4 |

Thats a great draw for everyone all 8 teams will feel they can win on the day. And knocks the conspiracy theory's on the head. Hopefully the Meath game will be portloaise. But with Loais and Cork good knows what place the GAA will dream up. A double header perhaps in Thurles ??

We avoided Mayo and Tyrone, they're the 2 that teams would have wanted to avoid so that's a positive but now we have to make it count. Htaem (Meath) - Posts: 8583 - 01/07/2019 09:01:56 2203248 Link 5 |
I thought the exact same myself, I wouldn't be surprised that the two "lesser games" so to speak would be doubled up and the geography makes a double header in Thurles possible alright, I hope not but it's possible
