Yep. But sadly not far of the truth.

Im sorry but not starting harnan would be absolute madness.. no chance he doesn't start after how well he played v carlow

Midfield for me is the key battle in this game.

It's our weakest sector and we could be in trouble if the Laois forward line push up on short kick outs and force Colgan long. Offaly were able to gain the advantage here and they had us on the back foot

I think our forwards will have the edge on Laois backs especially with our running game. So once we have enougg possession I think we have the players (on field and bench) to damage Laois at the back.

That said, I cannot remember a game this year where Meath have had the full runnings of midfield.

Replying To Furlong1949:  "This is how I see it. I will put it really simply. Galway are the best example for us.
1 Kevin Walsh achieved very little in his first two years in charge of Galway. McEntee the same with Meath. It was the same for Eugene McGee Mick Dwyer and Sean Boylan the three top most sucessful leinster managers outside Dublin. It takes years to turn a traditional county around thats being in the doldrums.
In year 3 Walsh achieved promotion but had a poor championship. In year 3 McEntee achieved promotion will he have a good or poor championship.
In year 4 Walsh makes the breakthrough stays in div 1 beat kerry in championship.
In year 4 McEntee makes the break through?. Time will tell. I think we will.

For me McEntee will be only half way through his tenure this year. This job is a 6 year job at least. Lets say we get relegated next season. We sud be aiming for promotion the following season. Cavan and Roscommon got promoted then relegated and promoted again. They have yo yoed. But it has helped both counties development , Roscommon have won Connacht title beating Galway in a final for first time in 20 years , beat Mayo in castlebar first time in 33 years and reached 2 super 8 / q finals. And Cavan defeated Monaghan. Its all down to div 1 football. If we could stay in div 1 for 3 seasons we close the gap with Dublin dramatically. If we were relegated next year and get promotion the year after, we spend 2 out of 3 years in div 1 we close the gap.with Dublin dramatically also. Players peaking , players returning , new exciting talent coming thru. This is possible Winning leinster title in 2022 could be attainable achievement.
Definatly feels things r going in the right direction. This year it would be great to have good championship but next spring is the big one. Sucess next spring could be the turning point for Meath football."
Couldnt agree more

As for Ose and his constant (nearly always totally wrong) comments on Meath . I'm getting really tired of getting t at this stage. Sick to back teeth"
But i wouldn't listen much to Tomas O'Se. He is very similar in his commentary of Meath as a certain Mr. McHugh from Tir Chonaill.

When we reach the SFC Leinster Final they will have to analysis and report on us.

Nail on head. Couldn't agree more. We really struggle against teams with decent midfield and a smart team will know to pressure colgans kick outs and make him go long.

Having said that...if the likes of newman, McMahon etc have their Weetabix we should be able to clock up enough to win. Newman will be targeted so need others to step up.

Hoping our half back can pop up for a few scores to be the difference.

We all have our opinions and we can rant along for what its worth. Quoting Galway's success or lack of it says little. Galway have good players but are going nowhere with Walsh's negative management. I would not be using them as a good example -end off.

Wise head on young shoulders. My own gossun was ridiculed playing Under 14 football and having a beard. Teams complaining he was overage. It's about how you carry yourself on the field with maturity. He was 16 at the time but that's not the point

Mcentee in for harnan only change. No surprise with james starting, huge surprise with harnan not. Still think there will be changes before throw in.

No place for Harnan if they line out as selected. Bit surprising

Is Shane macentee still injured? Hard to see him not starting if he is fit

Andy said everyone was fit so strange to see Shane not starting. Offers more than Flanagan.

Also think there will be a couple of changes. Don't see Sean Tobin starting.

Harnan should start for McCoy

Lads Harnan is going to start. Surely we've realized by now that Andy nearly always names a dummy team. I'm guessing Flanagan will lose out

Look a few surprises, that been said , this will be a tight game, Reilly Conlon and harnan and maybe Shane all coming on will be huge advantage to us in second half. As people say these days you finish with the strongest 15 you can.

What do you think shane offers more than Flanagan ? apart from pace. I think Flanagan will develop given time. He did well enough the last day. A better partnership for mento imo.

Pace, fitness, kick passing ability, workrate, shooting ability. Shane is better than Flanagan at all these. Your point is valid though that Flanagan might free up Menton to do more of these things

Yeah I agree, I think Flanagan would be useful as part of the panel but in my opinion apart from winning ball from long kick outs Shane McEntee is better in every department for a midfielder.

He's not head and shoulders above him or anything but just is the better option in my opinion.
