Replying To gwanyagudthing:  "I'd add Monaghan to that list, they are a fair bit further down the road in their development compared to us. That said, you're right - we've performed well against Tyrone and Donegal recently and they would not fancy meeting us."
Yeah I don't think anyone of those would fancy drawing us, IF we get to be in that position. We owe Monaghan to be fair. They really progressed since we both got promotion from div 3, while we stagnated. Hopefully that is changing now

I agree we must b thinking at least beat any one those teams realistically we not ready for dubs but seeing how far off them will b a bonus going forward.i think a loss would not deflate them to much it's how there managed when that happens is important.but lot football to b played before that can happen. Sunday is potential banana skin let's hope not.

Replying To gwanyagudthing:  "Interesting piece in one of the papers at the weekend, previewing the championship. 8 pundits asked for their predictions and all but one predicted Meath to reach the super 8's. I know this is looking a long long way ahead and making a lot of assumptions but the way the provincial draws are this year, the Round 3 winners in the qualifiers are likely to be four out of roscommon, kildare, tyrone, donegal, monaghan and armagh. Would we beat all of them coming off the back of a leinster final loss with our opponent having won 1 or more matches in the qualifiers? That's what it may boil down to."
There's always plenty to read in the papers before the championship and it's understandable that people enjoy it because they're looking forward to the summer etc. But at the end of the day, it is just pure speculation.

Lets not meet trouble half way, we can't plan for how we'll get on in a Leinster final or who we're playing in a last round qualifier or anything else. All we know for certain is that we're playing on Offaly on sunday and the winner plays Carlow, nothing else is certain. Lets focus on who's in front of us and how we can make ourselves as hard as possible for any team to play against.

Hopefully we'll have a good run this year, we haven't gone into a championship in this good of shape in many years and brings a lot of hope to the county which is great to see. But results are all you're judged on at the end of the day and we haven't produced anything in the championship for a decade now.

While I'd generally agree re team. I'd be concerned about harnans fitness level. Maybe I'm wrong but I think campion might be better option. Any word on Kane's arm???

No doubt Campion is a good player but personally I like Ethan Devine more. Campion lacks the consistency of performance that Devine brings in my opinion. I think Campion has great potential and I think both he and Devine will make up 2/3rds of our half forward line in years to come! I saw both play in the Club Championship recently and thought Devine's influence on the games was more meaningful! That said I wouldn't be bent out of shape with either

Ethan Devine won't be on the panel for Sunday.

He got concussed against Roscommon which would rule him out of any training during the camp they seemingly had in Cork last weekend.

With no training for about a week to ten days before the game, there's no way Andy will risk him for Sunday.

I would imagine we'll see the team from the league final with Sean Tobin replacing Devine on the bench.

Defensively I can see the same defenders named but Gavin McCoy did well against Roscommon and might force his way back in.

Regards the defence, 100% Gallagher starts corner back if he's fit, ryan will be 7. Other 4 are obvious

Devine won't start but he will be part of the 26 I heard. Doubt he would have started anyway, he didn't seem to get as much game time as some of the other forwards. I can see what ASaminthehand is saying about Campion being inconsistent but I would give him a chance vs Offaly. If he hasn't improved he should be just used from the bench in the upcoming games.

Don't know if Ruairi O'Coilean is match fit, he didn't play in either of O'Mahonys championship games but if he is I would be starting him. He is a quality player.

I'd be bringing on Graham Reilly with about 20 minutes to go and also trying to get game time into Kane and Devine

Any team announcement yet?

Didnt realise Niall Kane was back training on contention for a jersey.

Also, is Ruairi O'Coileain on squad?

Anxiously excited for Sunday.

Kane is a possibility for the panel Sunday but unlikely I would think.

Ruairi O'Coilean was back in training since mid to late league campaign.

Niall Kane can run but sure he is still has not full mobility in his arm from what I hear. O'Coiliean had an injury and again I dont think he is in contention either as he may be just back or maybe is still out . Meath to win but this will be tighter than most folk think. Offaly wont be rolling over for us

David I am not sure I dont think his involved. They named over 36 players on the program in the challenge game a few weeks ago v Roscommon Ruairi O'Coileain and Alan forde where not named on it.

Both incorrect.
O'Coillean has a stress fracture and hasnt featured for NOM in either championship game because of it.
Kane only has his cast off a week, still over a month away from contact training.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I thought that I didn't notice O'Coileain feature for O'Mahonys in championship. Also I would be surprised if Kane was in full training.

I would have to agree with Tomas O'Se from interview this AM. Definitely think we will win but Offaly will run us close. They will not fear Meath.

Hence anxiously confident.
