On what grounds could Ballinabrackey appeal? While I'm sure it was annoying to have the "score" chalked off, the ref will just say that the ball should not have been in play and as such the score was null and void with play restarted back at the foul. The county board will uphold the referees report.

On top of that, Rule 7.1(n) of the GAA Official guide states "no Objection or Counter-Objection may be submitted on grounds that a referee had incorrectly allowed or failed to allow a score."

I doubt very much the bracks will object, but i do remember some game years ago having to be replayed over a score that was giving or not giving ( not sure which ) between to county teams.

Replying To royal_realist:  "Trim v DB - Trim by 8
Nobber v Bracks / Walt - Bracks to beat both by 3
Dunderry v Oldcastle - Dunderry by the minimum
Meath Hill v Castletown - Meath Hill by 2

From a good bit out it is looking like a Trim Bracks final, with Trim coming out on top. Bracks have had lots of chances."
Not much of a realist my man, Bracks by 8?
Really? Too much hype about them. I said it earlier on this forum the signs were there, Castletown took care of them in the 'knockout' stages of the league, that was enough for me.

Trim v DB - D/B by 2 - Match of the weekend for me. Both teams contain some top class players. Think D/B has been building nicely this year and will just edge this.

Nobber v Walterstown - Think this is Nobber by 4, Potentially the 2 O Connells out for Walterstown and another forward injured last week on a team that only had 21 named. Farrell and Morris to see Nobber over the line

Dunderry v Oldcastle - Oldcastle by 1. Paddy Gilsenan back fit is a massive boost for Oldcastle. Coogan loss to be Dunderrys failing here.

Meath Hill v Castletown - Castletown by 4. Castletown to have too much for Meath Hill. Experience at this level will see castetown over the line. Meath Hill to battle hard but cant see them getting the scores requried.

Trim vs D/B - Trim by 5. Trim have too much firepower with young Lynch a thorn in the side at this level and could get to final particularly now with no hurling to distract. D/B have been improving on the back on a good Corn na Boinne run but struggled to get over a weakened Dunderry and Black Hall teams recently.

Dunderry vs Oldcastle - Oldcastle by 2. Will the real Oldcastle please stand up. Only Division 1 side left. Unpredictable but should have enough. Dunderry apparently have Kennelly back which will offset Coogan loss but form in championship and Corn na Boinne has been dubious losing to D/B in both.

Castletown vs Meath Hill - Castletown by 3. Castletown having a great year and have that winning habit. Castletown overcame Ballinlough when it mattered in league final while relegated Meath Hill failed to do likewise in their winner takes all championship game.

Nobber vs Walterstown - Nobber by 5. Nobber will have too much firepower for a much improved Blacks. Promoted Walterstown will be no pushover with 5 championship wins already this year but the journey stops here against a solid and experienced Nobber who are also unbeaten in 5.

Trim will have far too much firepower for DB, I really think this is Trim's year. They will be competitive at Senior level next year too.

Trim are well geared up for the next three games and running the champions close in the Hurling will give the football lads lots of confidence. DB losing to BB in the CnaB final doesn't bode well after BB lost out to Walterstown last week.

Dunderry Oldcastle game the most fascinating for me. Can see it being a close one and a cracking physical game.

Trim vs D/B - Very difficult to call. Trim have good forwards but are a bit inexperienced at the back. D/B came through steadily - Draw.

Dunderry vs Oldcastle - Oldcastle by 4. Dunderry will probably suffer by being a dual club and in the IHC final.

Castletown vs Meath Hill - Castletown by 6 - I think Castletown have more nous and experience at the knockout stages.

Nobber vs Walterstown - Walterstown by 2 I think the game vs The Bracks will stand to them.

Trim vs D/B - Trim, now out of the hurling, could be a force to be reckoned with. Lynch will carry them over the line here, as well as Douglas up top. Trim by 6

Dunderry vs Oldcastle - Oldcastle should have too much for Dunderry. OC by 4

Castletown vs Meath Hill - Hard to know. Meath Hill going well, and Trim exposed Ctowns weaknesses at the back especially. They failed to score a whole pile in the second half but Could still get over the line by 1

Nobber vs Walterstown - Nobber by 4. Morris being fit or not is a big factor.

So the semis are Trim vs Oldcastle and Castletown vs Nobber.

Hard to call. All four teams have a decent chance of making the final.

Yes its a hard one to call alright.

Trim probably outright favourites at the moment but Oldcastle will give them a tough test. Still fancy Trim to come through by 2/3 points .

Nobber v Castletown is a little tougher to call. Castletown are the surprise package at the moment being in relegation playoff last year and semi final this year! Nobber will go in as favourites I'd say but in a local derby anything goes.

I'm gonna go Trim v Castletown final.

Fancy Oldcastle to beat Trim. Trim took their typical 10 minute breather mid game and nearly lost it. Oldcastle will punish. Castletown impressive today also, fancy them to make the final now.

Oldcastle seem to have Trim's number over the past few years and usually beat them. Should be an interesting game with two young teams. Nobber v Castletown very hard to call. Castletown might shade it.

Just like the Senior championship the bookies got it right across the board despite Duleek and Walterstown putting it up to Trim and Nobber respectively both fell short despite leading close to the end. Bad start cost Dunderry with some late scores by Meath hill and wayward shooting by Castletown masking the comfort of Castletowns win.

Methinks Trim might do it. Meath needs The Town of Trim playing Senior Football

Why do we not need Oldcastle playing senior football ?

Think Oldcastle will have a far to much for Trim as for the other one, that will be tight... will go for Nobber,
Oldcastle are the only one out of the 4 who will have any chance of making an impression in the senior ranks

I think Trim Oldcastle will be a lot closer than some people think. Yes, Oldcastle have the indian sign on Trim in recent years but, if Trim can get decent ball into Lynch and Douglas, they can do damage. That said Oldcastle experience might still shade it.

Other game very close to call.

where has the idea that Oldcastle have a great record against Trim come from? Trim beat Oldcastle by about 14 points in 2016 in Navan. Oldcastle beat Trim in the 2017 1/4 final by 7 or 8. That game was level with 10 minutes to go. Neither of those games will have any bearing on the semi final as both line ups look fairly different
