Is it just me or does anyone else think that Mcbride is a tad bit over rated. Seen him play twice in tailteann cup and league earlier in the year and he was just average , nothing to be writing home about. Now maybe that was just one of his off days, anyone else have anything to say about this ?

Well he's 18 years old. Possibly 17 when you seen him play so still just a kid. wouldn't be putting him in the overrated category just yet . Still not the finished article and has plenty still to learn and needs to develop physically which he will do over time but I can definitely see the potential there and why he's been spoken about so highly.

I Agree, I don't think he's as good as being hyped up, but he is very young and has the potential, he's already quite tall and a good fielding ability, if he fills out over the next 2-4 years he could be a serious players, but I've seen this hype about a number of young lads that just never followed up on it such as Dan O Neill who people were calling to replace McGill at one point. Even if he does remain he should not be brought into the senior set up until he is at least past U20 level as midfield is a different animal to forward line with the like of Conlon and Walsh. Let him develope, maybe play Meath Juniors for a year and see how he fairs

I have seen him a good few times and think he is very good! But - he is not the finished article - how could he be at 18! We need to be careful of over hyping a lot of these young guys. It takes careful management to firstly strenghten them up, improve them and get them ready for adult football. In my opinion, McBride and Costello are the best of the young group coming through at the moment but I think they even found the step up to 20's difficult this year.

Anyway - not sure what this has to do with Junior A (McBride playing for Ultans??) but I have a little fancy for Dunsany !

Reason why I mentioned him because someone else said that he's a loss for ultans because of AFL trials.

Yep - thought it might be that! He would be a loss to Ultan's - despite his age he is a very good player and I think most clubs would miss him!

Yes this is junior club football we are talking about and I don't think there's a club in this grade would not miss him,he has potential to develop into a fine player but give him a chance

Clan na gael v ballivor
Dunsany v moylagh
2 big games , don't think I can call a winner for either game.

Ballivor look the stand out team, very hard to call the other game maybe dunsany might just get over the line,am I right in saying dunsany are the only club in meath not to win an adult championship

Great achievement from Moylagh who will be intermediate next year. Had battled through the years at junior without huge success and struggled with numbers at times. Looks like a united group that stuck together through thick and thin. Have a great chance in final now.

The last time Ballivor won the JFC Kildalkey also won the Senior Hurling.

Looks like kildalkey going well in the hurling did work against ballivor. A few lads went hiding.

Has there ever been a recorded incidence in history where Ballivor lost a match due to not playing good enough? Every time they lose the first comment is always just saying it's because of focusing on hurling.

Plenty of other football clubs have lads playing hurling , so why are Ballivor the only club where every failure in football is due to hurling?

Do tell me castle bravo some lads hurled last week but couldn't train or play today but likely will be miraculously fit next week to hurl. They bottled it last week and they bottled it this week.

Ah c'mon now. They were unbackable favourites this year and last. Hammered everyone around but yet bottled it again. Next will be even bigger favourites.
