Preview of senior :
Group A :
Senchelstown vs navan : The Mountain men vs the town boys If Kevin Reilly is having an impact like zidane as a a club legend at navan then mcconville is like mourinho playing a negative brand of football with star striker joe Sheridan occupying the number 6 jersey . I fancy navan to have too much fire power brothers David and Stephen , brady going for their 5th Keegan rings.
Verdict Navan by 5+
Skryne vs St. Pats
This game should be tight considering skryne are in terrible form and pats are terrible at football. I fancy there to be plenty of space for skryne forwards such as dara campion and battersby due to paddy orourke being treble marked with one man on paddy himself and 2 men trying to hold him down.
Verdict skryne to win by 3
Dunshaulin vs kells
Possibly the nicest team to play against vs the meanest. The one man in the dunshaulin team who wouldnt fit into the nice category is Ben Duggan who is described by locals in dunshaulin as a brawler who gets himself dragged into football matches Kells have marty Barrett to spoil duggans game of being rough as Duggan can not handle the the type of man barrett is. his ruthlessness knows no end barrett the type of man who'd plug out your life support machine to charge his phone will prove too much for Duggan . They also have Brian hannlon up top who goes against kells mentality of playing septic football hannlon commonly known as ' Mr. Bean ' is one of the best club forwards in Meath and I expect him along with the pace of cormac mattimoe to cause too much to handle for the dunshaulin defence .
Verdict kells by 3
Group B Moynalvey vs rathkenny. The tightest game to call. This will see the 2 most intelligent Men in Meath to come up against each other in the form of cillian ' bunman ' O'Sullivan coming up against donal keoghan. You'd normally fancy moynalvey to win this game by around 6 points but due to Conor 'sesh ' Harnan leading the quieter lads. The likes of your John duggans and Adam Murphy and they could pay the price next Saturday . After the Meath game drinking session I think this will be a 5 point handicap to moynalvey . Hence why I think this will be tight
Verdict : moynalvey by 1
Longwood vs ratoath
Longwood a town that the razor has not reached yet vs the men from Dublin. Ratoath who have chosen to compete in Meath this year will be hot favourites here and being realistic if you can see a Longwood win . I'll have what you're smoking . The only way I can see Longwood winning is if Mickey burke can find a white jersey as accurately as he did in the Meath vs kildare game this year however I can't see this happening
Verdict Ratoath : by 10+
Ashbourne vs summerhill
Ashbourne are a real people's club and the fact they are running a supporters bus from finglas this weekend shows the fans are expecting big things . They come up against a rejuvenated summerhill . Summerhill will be hoping that there defence can be as tight as Cavan native declan McCabe who succeeds Summerhills own john lyons who was spared the death penalty but was exciled to Johnstownbridge for his crimes of losing summerhill 2 county finals in 2017 and 2018 . The key battle in this game will be between Andrew tormey and eamo pudgies. Ashbournes answer to gonzalo higuain will have a tough job to cope with the presence of pudgies who is shaped like a young Richard Dunne and this could prove the deciding factor along with summerhills key men upfront being to powerful such as Ronan ryans twin and Barry dardis . Also summerhill with a lack of townies will prove a great asset .
Verdict summerhill by 4
Dunboyne vs curraha will see the county champions open there account versus one of the weaker teams in Meath. I can see dunboyne winning this by a landslide with fire power in the form of Shane mcentees little brother and mixy Dunne I can't see Curraha standing a chance.
Dunboyne by 10+
Na fianna vs st. Colmcille I think this is a tough game to call . Colmcilles have great forwards and have a good defence structure likewise na fianna. However as the old saying goes nothing is won without a farmer . This is where I think anto neary and seanie Martin will step up and be the difference .
Verdict : na fianna by 2
Wolfe tones vs simonstown
This result will depend on what simonstown team shows up . If niall kane isn't working as a post Malone impersonator and is available for selection I can see his attacking runs being too much for the Wolfe tones . Wolfe tones do however have cian ward who is the best striker of the ball in Meath history since Vincent of baconstown. Both sides will be up for it but simonstowns superior fitness and fire power of Sean Tobin crouchy and mckeever will prove too much for tones
Verdict: simonstown by 6

SFC Gaeil Colmcille v Dunshaughlin - Think Dunshaughlin can get the win here. Think Kells might be on the slide this year. Seneschalstown V O Mahonys - O Mahonys easy win here. 10+ points Skryne v St Pats - Skryne. St Pat's will give them a very tough game but Skryne should have enough to scrape a win. Moynalvey v Rathkenny - Rathkenny. Don't know why Moynalvey are such strong favourites for this one. Sitting bottom of div 1 but COS and Harnan will be big additions but if they are missing McLoughin they might struggle. Longwood v Ratoath - Ratoath. Don't know what kind of team Ratoath will have but should have enough to win by 5+ Na Fianna v St Colmcille - Colmcilles 50/50 game but ill go with the Cillies.
Verdict: simonstown by 6" You really have serious problems with Ratoath and Ashbourne, don't you? It's really sad.

Replying To Ratoath Royal: "You really have serious problems with Ratoath and Ashbourne, don't you? It's really sad." You just have a problem with honesty I'm a mayoman living in Meath I've no reason to favour anyone . I call it as I see it

Replying To Ratoath Royal: "You really have serious problems with Ratoath and Ashbourne, don't you? It's really sad." When I read his post initially I thought the same - but in fact it looks like he has a problem with everyone!! I think in the main it is just tongue in cheek! I certainly wouldn't call Conor McGill a Dublin man to his face!!!!
Anyway for what it is worth - here are the odds;
Gaeil Colmcille win 4/11 Draw 15/2 Dunshaughlin win 5/2 - I'd go along with the bookies on that one!
Navan O'Mahonys win 1/5 Draw 10/1 Seneschalstown win 4/1- Again, agree with the bookies - NOM seem to flying under Kevin Reilly
Skryne win 1/4 Draw 9/1 St Pats win 9/2 - Skryne aren't exactly flying in the League - not sure this will be as easy for them as the odds suggest - although I think they will scrape through
Dunboyne win 1/10 Draw 16/1 Curraha win 11/2 - Hard to argue with these odds - Player depth is a big issue for Curraha with injuries and travels impacting them while Dunboyne can probably field 3 teams!
Moynalvey win 4/9 Draw 15/2 Rathkenny win 21/10 - I fancy the draw in this one - The match up of O'Sullivan and Keoghan will be worth the entrance fee!
Ratoath win 1/12 Draw 16/1 Longwood win 13/2 - Surprised at the margin of odds here - Saw Ratoath playing in teh league - look like a very young team - no Wallaces, no O'Briens, no Power and it looks like Brian Mc is out after his unfortunate injury last Saturday! So only McGill to comeback in! I think this could be a close run thing!
St Colmcilles win evens Draw 13/2 Na Fianna win evens - Could be the tie of the round as the odds suggest - two similar enough type teams but I think the Reilly, Brennan Conlon mix will see Cilles through
Simonstown win 1/2 Draw 15/2 Wolfe Tones win 15/8 - Another game that could be tight - S'Town haven't been the same since O'Rourke retired (and Nash went back to Oz!) but I agree with the bookies and think they will edge this Derby!
Summerhill win 4/7 Draw 13/2 Donaghmore Ashbourne win 7/4 - Saw Ashbourne in the league earlier this year against and thought they looked good! But Summerhill look like a real Championship team and I think they will edge this one!

Obviously any man playing for Meath is a Meath man . I didn't pin point Conor McGill. I'm talking about the lads who stroll around the pitch and roar with a Dublin accent. I generalised a team because at the end of the day it's a team game and the attitude of ashbourne and ratoath doesn't fit the Meath mentality . You go to games and you won't hear navan or simonstown lads roaring at each other they encourage .

I know lots of Ratoath lads who have played with county at different age groups and all consider themselves Meath - I have seen Ratoath a few times in the league this year and hadn't noticed them shouting at one another anymore than other teams! I'd say something similar about Ashbourne too!
Anyway - I thought you were messing - actually thought this was a great line (Although it is David and Stephen Bray)
If Kevin Reilly is having an impact like zidane as a a club legend at navan then mcconville is like mourinho playing a negative brand of football with star striker joe Sheridan occupying the number 6 jersey . I fancy navan to have too much fire power brothers David and Stephen , brady going for their 5th Keegan rings.

Gaeil Colmcille win 4/11 Draw 15/2 Dunshaughlin win 5/2 - Kells to win , will go close this year , time is running out for this team
Navan O'Mahonys win 1/5 Draw 10/1 Seneschalstown win 4/1- NOM to win this by 6-7 , flying so far. . Cant seem STown coming near
Skryne win 1/4 Draw 9/1 St Pats win 9/2 - Tipping Pat to scrape this , Seen Skyrne this year and they are v bad , PAts normally pull one good performance out a year and think this could be it
Dunboyne win 1/10 Draw 16/1 Curraha win 11/2 - Dunboinne to win this with ease :12 +
Moynalvey win 4/9 Draw 15/2 Rathkenny win 21/10 - Rathkenny to win this by 2 , Not many fancy playing Rathkenny , a real Dogged outfit
Ratoath win 1/12 Draw 16/1 Longwood win 13/2 - Ratoath are missing all their big hitters , bar McGill - Upset is definitely on the Cards , Get your money down before the Woods price go up
St Colmcilles win evens Draw 13/2 Na Fianna win evens - Think this could be a draw, two evenly matched teams , NF powers are on the wane whilst Cilles are moving in the opposite direction
Simonstown win 1/2 Draw 15/2 Wolfe Tones win 15/8 - Tones to win , good outside Bet to win overall
Summerhill win 4/7 Draw 13/2 Donaghmore Ashbourne win 7/4 - The Hill all day!! but only by a point of 2

Gaeil Colmcille win 4/11 Draw 15/2 Dunshaughlin win 5/2 - Gaeils are like the Spurs of the Meath SFC. Good, but not quite good enough. Dunshaughlin should be a match for them. Verdict: Draw
Navan O'Mahonys win 1/5 Draw 10/1 Seneschalstown win 4/1 - Kevin O'Reilly has freshened things up on Brews Hill. Six wins from six in the league is good form. Seneschalstown will struggle to survive in Group A. Verdict: N O'M 4-6 points.
Skryne win 1/4 Draw 9/1 St Pats win 9/2 - Skryne haven't won a game yet in 2019. That will change this weekend. Verdict: Skryne 4-6 points.
Dunboyne win 1/10 Draw 16/1 Curraha win 11/2 - The easiest of the first round ties to call. Curraha can ready themselves for a return to intermediate football. Dunboyne 10-20 points.
Moynalvey win 4/9 Draw 15/2 Rathkenny win 21/10 - Rathkenny beaten by Dunderry last time out? Moynalvey should have enough to beat them so. Verdict: Moynalvey 1-3 points.
Ratoath win 1/12 Draw 16/1 Longwood win 13/2 - Ratoath have been missing a number of regulars so are vulnerable. Longwood have the form of a junior team going into this. Verdict: Ratoath 10-15 points.
St Colmcilles win evens Draw 13/2 Na Fianna win evens - I think these two are darkhorses. I'll give a hesitant vote to Na Fianna. Verdict: Na Fianna 1 point.
Simonstown win 1/2 Draw 15/2 Wolfe Tones win 15/8 - This is a great opportunity for Tones to finally beat their neighbours in the championship. I believe they haven't done so since 2012. Verdict: Tones 1-3 points.
Summerhill win 4/7 Draw 13/2 Donaghmore Ashbourne win 7/4 - Donaghmore Ashbourne gave the Hill a good pasting in the league. League and championship are two very different things. Summerhill were missing Dardis that day as well. Summerhill 1-3 points.
