Replying To ROYALOPTIMIST:  "People who have been realistic about our performances seem to be portrayed as being negative and pessimistic but thats the nature of the posters here.

For what its worth this has been a poor Division 2 so far but I will take our position gladly."
Strongest division 2 in years according to every else outside royaloptimist land.

Ennis take 2! Best wishes to Andy Bryan and the lads. This could be the makings of a serious assault on the Championship!
Hon the Royal!

Yes, great result I had to listen on the radio. So that was tough. But sounded it was all hands to the pump at the end and managed the black cards well. Good stuff.

Good result.
Unfortunately I travelled yday in vain & missed match today due to St Patrick's say commitments.
Listening on radio it sounded like an accomplished performance in a poor match.
But a win is all that matters for us!
Promotion is completely in our hands now.
Practically assured a top 2 finish.
Well done to team, one and all.

Lots of small errors in 1st half kept Clare in it. Much better in second half. G Reilly steadied the ship when he came on plus got a great goal

Yes it definitely sounded like the substitutions made a big difference.
Graham Reilly had a big influence.
How is Shane McEntee's injury does anyone know?

Two words. Graham Reilly.
What a player , without him coming on and doing everything from defending scoring goal, getting fouled for frees calming other players setting up scores. Legend is too small a word for this man.

Listening on the radio was torture. But funny bit was "Graham Reilly got the ball in the net and now Graham is in the net. " :)

Well done Meath. Got the business done today in harsh conditions.

I only caught some parts of the game on radio but it would appear we dug in for the win once we got in front.

A good performance next Sunday in Navan will see us through to Division 1.

Royaloptimist is probably expecting Meath to capitulate and lose to Fermanagh by 15 points.

Vital win today. Promotion looking very likely. Hoping Fermanagh beat us narrowly this weekend and Kildare beat Donegal. It's better for us next year if Fermanagh go up to Div 1 and Kildare/Donegal stay in Div 2.

Looking at the campaign so far the performances from the team deserved to have us unbeaten but valuable lessons were learned from that defeat. Not guaranteed yet but a big day out in Croker is long overdue. Navan should be packed this weekend.

Only memory was him getting a vital spill of the ball to set up a meath attack. Can't remember his other moments good or bad.

Was okay, they were dominating midfield so we had to try something different. Still would have Shane McEntee starting over him at midfield.

Impressive performance once we cut out the basic mistakes made in the first half. Also something you wouldn't gather from the radio or match report is how well we played when down to 14 men twice in the game. Think we outscored them in them two periods. Mentons black card might have been a little bit harsh but we can't complain too much.

Work rate was top class from all the lads and Royaldunne wanted to drop Thomas O'Reilly but he was my Man of the maych. He probably covered the most distance and carried the ball extremely well. Really has improved this year which is great to see. Ronan Ryan was also top class.

Did ok when he came on, couple of off performances but the whole team seemed to settle when Reilly came on, took a nasty knock getting the goal, but Clare seemed genuinely afraid of him pulling dragging him everywhere

Drop him? Nah ,but he still makes too many mistakes for my liking, ,has potential definitely just needs to iron out the errors, had a good game, but I could name 5 ahead of him for motm. But the clear motm was Cillian O'Sullivan and to say otherwise is nonsense

Yes good result in the circumstances and i am delighted with it. To be fair we should be beating Clare anyway as we seem to have their number over the last few years. My only worry was the postponement yesterday and i heard they were staying down last night and sometimes that can be a negative so thats what I mean when i say in the circumstances along with the fact that it was a must win game for Clare as well.

He did very well i thought he seems a lot stronger recently in my opinion. G Reilly was great and gave us such a lift he is a very good impact sub. Ronan Ryan and Gallagher also stood out for me with the usual mcgill, lavin, keoghan and cos giving a great shift as usual. Brian mc and newman were quiet enough prob as the system we play dont suit them to much but come championship they will be and while james mc was not himself today probably still recovering he didnt do too bad at all. It was tough weather today but the fitness and subs bench came through in a much deserved win without hitting top gear. Clare fought well and done the fans proud despite not many clare people in ennis to cheer them on. Ben Brennan was also a big miss today roll on next week for a packed out navan

It certainly looked that way before the start of the campaign yes but did'nt work out that way and i do not think anybody could argue with that.

Cork were worse than anybody envisaged, Tipperary had issues with player availability that their limited resources could not overcome, Donegal basically played a second string team until now and Clare have struggled. The fact that Fermanagh have been among the pacesetters in the division should show to anyone that it has been a very poor division so far.

That doesnt take away from Meath as you can only play and beat whats in front of you and i think everyone would agree that we seen some improvement in the team and theres probably some younger talent going to emerge as well over the next year or two so we are in a good place at the moment.
