A very good article in todays Indo about K Duff where he talks about the battles/wars he had with Meath players over the years. But also has high praise for these same lads who stood behind him through very tough times.

"You know it's all these Meath guys that you battled against, these were the main guys that rowed in behind me," says Duff.

Graham Geraghty was public enemy number one as well in his time and got some horrible abuse from the media. Far worse and more personal then what Diarmuid Connolly has gotten. Never seen Geraghty get too much sympathy for it either. It's almost as if it never happened.

Should he be? I have only seen him play a few times - last time was in the Corn Na Boinne final against Ballinlough. He cvertainly wasn't the best player on view that day - Peadar Byrne and Ronan McGuinness were! Have you seen him play much?

Well he was on the panel earlier. Seen him with the u20s last year and he played well a few times. Only seen him once last year with Oldcastle and he played okay but didn't stand out.

He had Austrialian Rules trials in the last few months I believe.

I don't think he should be starting or anything but I think it would be good if we can keep lads like him around the panel to develop further. Could be a decent prospect.

Awful lot of people nervous about this game. I am not as nervous as some. I think we should have enough to beat Clare. I dont know that much about Clare. I know we dished out bad beatings to them lately.
I would take them as odd type of results. So I dont think we will beat Clare by that score line or anything like it. Considering the highest margin they have lost in the league is 3 points.

I did seen highlights of Clare v Cork and Armagh. In the Cork game they look to be strong in Midfield and racked up a big score that day, The looked a classy team. Against Armagh Jamie Clarke got sent off and Clare got a player sent off later on too. But they battled hard to the end to get an away draw.

The weather is supposed bad tomorrow with, yellow rain warnings so this is disadvantage in my view.
All that said I think we still should have enough to beat Clare, Interesting to see what team is announced ie is James Mc Entee back ? is Ben Brennan fit ? But what team is announced, and what team lines up come throw in could differ as we have seen.
So quietly confident all going well we will win.

I see GAA have addressed the possibility of bad weather and any games that fall foul will be played Sun/Mon. Hopefully plenty of notive is given.

No change in team announced. But I wouldn't be surprised if j McEntee does start he was on a good run of form up to getting injured 2 games ago

This is an absolute outrage. How can they call game off with 3hours of possible drying? Every effort should have been made to play. My daughter is in tears beside me. Trying to explain to her that grown men are afraid to play in the rain.

It's not right that loyal Royals like myself and my daughter are treated this way. We left for Ennis with flags out the windows and kitted out in green and gold and we're now being laughed and sneered at because of no game. Disgustingly treated yet again by the GAA. Days like this make it very to keep going but we will head back and return tomorrow. Hon the Royal.

Re: re fixture.

If Ennis is likely to get more rain tonight and or tomorrow, is another venue likely to be looked at as id imagine the gaa will be anxious to make sure it is played this weekend.
If it doesn't go ahead this weekend then the entire division gets put on hold next weekend as all 4 round 7 games have to be played together.
(I know there was a slight contradiction last year with Meath v Louth but that won't be allowed happen in this instance)

Normally when Ennis is unplayable it is moved to Miltown Malbay . It should be rescheduled for monday in Miltown id say but thats only what i think.
