Yeah would agree. Same starting team and I'd put Harnan on the bench

Reilly is best off the bench I think. Good to have the same players starting for consistency etc

Could be right, just think that if we could break cork early their heads would drop. Reilly is not able for 70 minutes according to Mattie Kerrigan and a few commentators, last thing we need is cork gaining confidence in second half, cause imo they a lot better than they have shown lately. It's only a thought , I won't care who starts or who doesn't.

I'd rather a player like biggy come on with 25mins to go rather then start, get marked by the best defender and have little impact.

Went to watch Meath for the first time in a long time V Armagh, This is only my opinion for what its worth, Ben Brennen not good enough at 11, i would play campion in this position, also menton and mc entee at midfield is not going to work so i would be throwing young devine in here straight away, also our keeper is very average, the way the game is gone a keeper is nearly an extra defender, never thought id say it but POR is a big loss here, lastly newman is getting away with his game so far but come the summer and hopefully against some of the bigger teams in croker i think he will struggle, he has absolutely no pace and not a great man in a 50/50 situation, saying that we can fix most of my concerns but who am i to judge ?

AGAIN only my opinion, not saying i am right

Great analysis considering it was your first Meath game in a long time.

I think you raise good points. I too feel that our midfield is quintessentially average at division 2 standard. Its not going to make headway against the better teams, although the two lads are good working players, theyre the best option atm and theyre backed up by a very solid half back line. Brennan to me again is a hard worker, not spectacular but gets the job done. I agree also with Newman; a good head up front who can create calm and space for people like O'Reilly and Campion around him, but not a target man. He is not a physical, dangerous attacking full forward and never was. He is pivotal for free kicks though and is very important to this team. I think having Graham Reilly ready for 20/30 minutes at the end of a game is a good tactical move. However Reilly didnt get a sniff when he came on v. Armagh and he needs to impose himself when introduced, and he didnt look prepared to do that last week. Allowing O'Sullivan to play a deep posession game was also a good tactical move, he did really well vs. Armagh and he looked comfortable in posession. I agree with the goalkeeping situation entirely, but I think the POR era is over as well. I believe the full-back line to be well drilled and played a pressure game on Armagh that well and truly stifled them. Our half-back line is very strong. All in all theres still many question marks around Meath, the confidence in the management, and a lot of the players. But after 3 tough games in a very combative division Im absolutely chuffed to see us where we are, I definitely feel more confident now then this time last year, when it was clear Meath were very, very vulnerable and the Longford debacle was almost an inevitability. I personally think we're a far tighter, more astute team and thats saying a lot.

a fair summation, Brennan is struggling, would start Devine ahead of him. Midfield and goalkeeper still a major concern, as it has been for a few seasons, even though Shane Mac is playing very well,.however overall there has been improvement all over the field and that is all I have ever asked for. on another point have we scored from an offensive mark in any of our league games.

With regard midfield I think a blind man could see mention mc antee is not working in midfield I think menton games is suffering actually. I think Flanagan is injured so our options are limited. But Andy had 2 years to sort out midfield and it's still and big problem. Togher. Kennelly Rooney was conlon there for awhile. I cant think of others.Unlucky that Ronan Jones is away. But its a on going problem for us.

I see James McEntee came off injured today for UCC. This would be a gigantic loss. I think he has been our best player so far and we would lose a massive attacking threat. Here's hoping he is alright, Otherwise we might have to fast track Harnan back into the team

Regards Newman your points, altho somewhat accurate , don't really matter. Once he continues with 80% plus from placed balls he's worth his weight in gold on any inter county team. I think he is playing better then lenihan did last year tho

Is he at 80% ? Don't have the stats but missed 43 or 4 against Donegal and 2 or 3 against Armagh. Agree though he is a better free taker than Lenihan and Lenihan wasn't at his best last year. Would be good to get the two of them playing together annoying it didn't happen

Some good insightful posts here.

The team are doing well and it's great to see but to move it to the next level in my opinion there are some changes that could be made.

Goalkeeping situation isn't resolved and still question marks over who should be in. I wouldn't mind seeing Dardis' kickouts as we could be much better here and will need to be going forward.

Midfield. It's a weak area. I'd like to see Keoghan tried out with Menton and put Lynch in centre back. If that takes too much from the half back line, then open to likes of Ethan Devine at midfield.

Centre forward position needs improving. It's a real shame Lenihan is out as I think this is the position for Newman as while he is class act, he's not a natural ball winning full forward. Anyone any ideas for a better inside forward if Newman were to play at 11?
