There is that many called in clubs are weaker in leagues because of it
Way too many in with most having no chance of a game
A lot refused to go in also knowing they were only being asked to be training fother

See the hurling panel named. 36 players. Be fairly normal number I'd say.

Shane McGann; Ger Murphy, Darren Kelly, Shane Whitty; Shane Brennan, Keith Keoghan, James Kelly; Sean Geraghty, Cathal McCabe; Damien Healy, Padraig O'Hanrahan, Jack Regan; Gavin McGowan, Eamon Ó Donnchadha, Alan Douglas

Strong looking team. Should be enough to win this game.

Meath seem to finally be getting all big players back from injury after League campaign. Anyone hear how training is going in camp? Are there still some main players injured, Toher and Gannon etc..?

That team won't take to the field, games of cat and mouse, just means that the normal punter has to spend the first 5 mins working out how is playing here and there....but then we know NOTHING, we from Barcelona!

Team started as in program. Good win for Meath, although London did not turn up at all; very poor in all positions. Meath did what they had to do and took the foot off the gas, running in plenty of substitutes.

Agreed and to make things better they lined out in their conventional positions, which is the way the game should be played.

Very poor London team but fair play to Meath they dosposed of them in 25 mins, disapointioning to see Gannon been stretchered off, any news on him ? that said i think there will be bigger tests ahead including Kildare this weekend even tho they lost to Roscommon, this weekend could finalsie the group if we beat Kildare and Roscommon beat London that would leave a shoot out in Athleague for top spot, the other side i guess Derry and probably Wicklow given that they won the league this year, competition that can be won i think.

Adam Gannon; not as bad as feared, probable dead leg. Back training soon enough.

I think the gap is pretty big but fair play to the team they have definitely improved. When you consider meath just lost to westmeath by a goal in the league and you see what westmeath done to offaly today. Blew kildare away today who were always a bogie team for Meath. Hopefully this year will get some momentum going and have a good run.

I think Kildare have introduced too many of the good Naas underage team at the same time, would have been better off bringing them onto the team gradually. Also Meath probably benefited from playing at the higher level for the previous two years. Kildare hard done by when winning the Christy Ring last year that they were not promoted.

If it is the case that Meath have moved on because of playing at the higher level then why demote them when it apparently brought them on a bit. Likewise when Kildare won last year why not let them up to the next level? Even if there is the slightest chance that it will improve their hurling. Too much streamlining of competitions, my opinion is that if a county wants to compete at a level let them and WHEN they feel that it is in THEIR OWN best interests to drop down then they should be allowed to do so.

The NHL has been graded almost since it's inception, with promotion and relegation, so let the League continue on the basis of evenly sized divisions but all counties should be allowed championship at the level of their choosing. Especially as the various tiers are nearly all different formats. Like the McCarthy Cup has 10/12 taking part. McDonagh Cup has 5 with 2 getting into the McCarthy Cup. Ring and Rackard Cups have 8 each while the Meagher Cup have what is left. Doesn't seem logical.
