Seamus Kenny in at Ratoath to bring some structure to a team that badly needs it. Great appointment from where they were. Upforyourball (Meath) - Posts: 36 - 11/11/2018 00:49:12 2150551 Link 0 |
Seamus or his brother Ciaran? If it is Seamus that's a big job for someones 1st dip into the management waters.

If my memory is correct Ciaran is a Ratoath man , and played most if not all his Juvenile football with Ratoath , he may have won a minor with Ratoath in the mid 80s , but I know he was on the amalgamation team of St Martins I believe when they won the Minor around 85-87. they were Dunshaughlin and others . ( A bit like the UN ) Allen Foley was Captain that year . After that I recall that Ciaran transferred to Dunshaughlin , where he was part of the 3 in a row under Eamon Barry .....Possibly our last real tilt at Leinster .... I wouldn't suspect that it is Seamus Kenny who is going to them, not his brother who just left his role with Simonstown to take a break. Ratoath are a bit of a basket case and will take a lot of fixing. They have been consistently getting to championship finals and winning a lot of them at minor and u21 level but haven't been able to push on at Senior level. Having so many players away with Meath for the majority of the season does definitely effect them, however that is not the only issue that they have. Absolute no experience. Out of frying pan Into the fire if they appoint him and him never coached at senior level. Has he actually coached even at underage.

Seamus Kenny would be a fantastic coup for Ratoath. Anytime I got close to the pitch when he was playing for Meath I could see that he was a leader of the group and tended to call the tactics and bring on the players around him. Ashrules (Dublin) - Posts: 342 - 13/11/2018 10:18:48 2150907 Link 0 |
Any update on the Simonstown job or Des Lane taking that on? Surprising that Seamus Kenny has opted to take the Ratoath job seeing that his own club is also searching for a manager. Maybe the fact that his brother just left the role had a factor in it. It is a very interesting job Kenny has took on at Ratoath, who have a lot of talent and are a team that are capable of winning a championship however they are also capable of falling apart easily as well. Has it been confirmed that Seamus is going to Ratoath?? I had heard that they only went out looking for a manger this week!

I think Simonstown normally make any management announcements at their AGM but they have appointed Des Lane.

I don't think Seamus Kenny can take any management job in the county as he is employed by the county board and has the last say on all decisions made in Dunganny. To take up a management position wit a club would be a huge conflict of interest . gardentree (Meath) - Posts: 194 - 22/11/2018 13:55:15 2152115 Link 0 |
Lads Seamus was still togging out for simonstown this year I'd find it incredibly hard to believe he has any interest in the ratoath job crazy to see how easily rumours can start!!

I believe St Michaels are looking for another new manager after possibly the shortest tenure of a manager in charge... Meathmaster (Meath) - Posts: 251 - 05/12/2018 09:12:30 2153363 Link 0 |

Met players Friday, said there was a poor turnout and to off and have a chat with themselves. By Sunday evening I believe he had the Corduff job... Meathmaster (Meath) - Posts: 251 - 05/12/2018 14:16:50 2153396 Link 0 |
Seamus Kenny is not going to Ratoath. David Byrne who took them to intermediate in 2012/13 before going into the Dublin set up is taking the Ratoath job.
