Good performance from him Sunday. Delighted to see Mickey back. Few faces played well there today. Young Banty is going to be an asset to this team, please god, going on his form with the Cilles. Only challenge game today but if its a taste of what we have to come and we continue to play like today, there is no reason whey we wont be moving up the ranks.

Why did Barry Dardis end up in goal?

Both Mick O Dowd and Andy Me Entee put a lot of effort into Meath GAA on and off the field. They both inherited a weak situation after years of neglecting development squads. Mick's team would have beat Tyrone but for bad referee decisions. There were no 30 Minute collapses. Ashrules (Dublin) - Posts: 342 - 27/11/2018 15:04:35 2152614 Link 4 |

Ha ha. I'm more from Meath than you ever will be. And furthermore learn about football. Mick O'Dowd was a terrible manager. And brought Meath to its lowest lever. Ever. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 17035 - 27/11/2018 18:49:41 2152634 Link 2 |

Banty (Conlon) is going to be a big asset to the team this year. He is one of the hardest players to mark he is wiry and small but by God can he play ball. Andrew Beakey also Cilles is a fine player. Looking forward to what they are going to bring to Meath football.....

Are Cilles the new Ratoath?

I hope that comment is a sarcastic one. All of those Cilles players on the panel now are fully justified and Graham Reilly and Ben Brennan have justified that with there performances for the Senior squad, and Conlon and Beakley for the U20's last year and previous underage squads, and will do so in the coming years for the Meath senior squad. A lot of people in Meath have a jealous streak in them when they see a large group from one club represented on the county squad, as Ratoath have experienced over the past few years. Andy has cast the net as wide as he possibly can and this is demonstrated by players being included from clubs like Ballinabrackey, Moylagh, Oldcastle, Longwood, Kilmainham right through to the bigger clubs like Dunboyne and St Colmcilles. Where your from should have, and doesn't have, a bearing on whether you make the Meath squad or not. The only credentials that matter are your attitude, ability and application not your location as some would like to suggest.

Cop on will ya. Alls im saying is that there are great lads coming up from the Cilles that made a massive difference last year. These are names that alot of supporters will know from outside the Cilles community because they are good players, myself included.

Usual nonsense. Ul find that people from a certain part of the county are more interested in how many lads that certain part of the county has on the meath panel and who that part of the county doesn't have more and why is this lad not gettin a run he scored 1-7 for his team in division 4 A league 3 months ago. I genuinely could not care less if the whole meath panel was from the one club in any part of the county as long as they were successful.

It is mise that mentioned the Cilles because three different Cilles players scored against Louth. The Cilles would be the nearest Meath club to me and I know a lot of people who live out in that direction.
