Quick question, is there stand alone tickets. Or is it general admission, and first come first serve. Bringing the younger ones and need a seat. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 17035 - 03/06/2018 13:12:56 2106731 Link 0 |
Jasus I'm horrid excited about this game. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 17035 - 03/06/2018 18:47:46 2106975 Link 0 |
If I am honest, I am dreading the game, mainly because I dislike with a passion the way the northern teams play, and in particular the type of game Tyrone have employed over the last number of years. I accept that every team wants to win, but Tyrone to me overstepped the mark but that is just my opinion and I know not everyone (especially Tyrone supporters) will agree with that. The optimistic side of me thinks that the first round of qualifiers especially can be a great leveler and that Meath are capable of playing better and could cause a shock or at least make a close game of it. However being realistic I think Tyrone are operating at a much higher level than Meath, are years ahead of us in terms of development and Meath have really failed to convince me that we can cope with the type of game we can expect on Saturday. I hope I am wrong but I see Tyrone winning this quite easily in the end. ROYALOPTIMIST (Meath) - Posts: 178 - 03/06/2018 21:32:32 2107058 Link 0 |
At long last I have to agree with you. And to improve our chances I wound send McEntee to Enniskillen to see Fermanagh prepare, he knows 100% how to position players around the "D" to close down the opposition, even to the point of his players knowing who of the opposition are not very accurate and they let them have the 'Hail Mary' attempt. We are nowhere as well drilled. So I would go 6 up front because it was the old fashioned high ball that bet Monaghan today.

Were you at many Meath games this year? What about the way we play the game? As another poster said I hope McEntee was up at the game in Omagh yesterday. If we are going to continue to play this dire football the least we can do is actually do it properly and copy a team like Fermanagh. Team I would pick Colgan Lavin MCGill Curran D O'Neill Keogan McCoy (one Dunboyne man for another) Menton Flanagan COS Ben Brennan (leave on for the full game) J McEntee Joey Wallace Biggie Lenihan Barney123 (Meath) - Posts: 676 - 04/06/2018 09:06:34 2107144 Link 12 |
Only Keogan from the team would get a spot on the Dubling squad. The rest would get it hard to get a spot in the Carlow squad. That where we are in terms of Football , some of you on here are delusional thinking that Meath can actually beat The Red had team. Wake up and take a reality pill

Yes, was at the majority of league games and if i am totally honest I fail to see any sensible method to our play and it would be another reason obviously why I am dreading the game. I was not at the Longford game but from reading comments here, there does not seem to have been any improvement. Whilst a bit is being made of our performance against Roscommon, I was at Hyde Park and I think we played them at the right time because Roscommon were obviously behind us in terms of preparation but even then for the first 50 minutes they were far better than us and should have been out of sight. Can we beat Tyrone Reco (Meath) - Posts: 419 - 04/06/2018 16:37:02 2107338 Link 0 |
Meath to give us a big performance on Saturday afternoon after the shocking performance against Longford even if we don't win I just want us to show some pride desire and give it everything we got and that's all we can ask for and you never know what might happen the underage seems to be on a high moment so all we can do now is try to competitive and just gradually bring the underage talent through and hopefully we will back where we belong at top of football and playing at the business end of the Championship so we need to keep faith there are better days ahead and I will love it when we knock the Dubs of the perch in Leinster. Look if I were you I'd stick to whack it ball. Btw they have gone VERY BACKWARDS. As keoghan while been good this year hasn't been near our top 2 players. If there was a transfer in gaa McGill would be top of dubs list.

Anyone thinking that Colgan should not start for Meath against Tyrone needs their head examined. Royal_Gunner (Meath) - Posts: 534 - 05/06/2018 08:49:51 2107549 Link 0 |
Keoghan is by a million miles the best player Meath have, he has been since Bray left, really wonder what games you are watching, he is one of very few players that would get on any of Meath team in the last 30 years and would get on any team in the country right now. Not sure that can be said about many.

No O'Sullivan? I know he had a bad game the last day but at least he is trying to make things happen, Would start him ahead of 3 of starting forwards, feel Joey Wallace gives more from the bench, McMahon has been very ineffectual over the past number of games,

Lads might not be the right place to post this put just wondering what became of Paddy Gilsenan from Oldcastle? I remember him being a fine footballer but he doesn't appear to be anywhere near this panel at the moment. Banner.Abu (Clare) - Posts: 92 - 05/06/2018 11:34:06 2107622 Link 0 |
