this Saturday the 7th. Semi final against Laois, at 12pm in Portlaois. Laois' results in the other group weren't great so we'd be favourites. Kildare vs Wicklow in the other semi

Brilliant performance today, full forward line lethal. Cian McBride is as good a midfielder as I have ever seen at this age. Into a Leinster final now (first time since 2012 at Minor) and going for back to back under 17's. Guaranteed an All Ireland quarter win or lose the final but Leinster don't grow on trees so hopefully we can do it, we are well capable

Be a great boost to win it. Need to take Kildare down in this one.
Word of caution though, Kildare also gave Laois a hiding.

wise words, a win at this level in Leinster would be a badly needed boost

Had the pleasure of being in Portlaoise to watch this game and it done my heart good to see a Meath team play with such vibrancy and skill, great pace, athleticism, vision and work rate even when the game was well won and I agree this McBride chap has special written all over him but the whole team played together as a unit very well. We need a provincial title and I really hope these guys can fish the job now, having seen them today I see no reason why they can't do so, well done to all......

We have the players coming through from last years U17s and now this minor team. As I said in another thread, U20s is a very important job these days. We need to get the right men in charge who understand modern systems.

Fair point, but I suspect they will. Either way we need to finish the job

yes we seem to have a special team here but it would be great to go into the all-Ireland 1/4 finals as Leinster champions

I presume Kildare will win today and will play Meath in Leinster final.
This will be the first real test this Meath minor team will have as all the teams to date have been very poor.

A draw today in the other semi final, sounded like a mad game. A replay suits us down to the ground means we will be the fresher team

First off. Very good win Wicklow drawn with Kildare is interesting. But bottom line is we MUST win Leinster. Would also agree re u20 been very very important next year and year after . I personally would like to see GG take the reigns.

We lost 1-10 to 1-8, but we made 13 changes for the Laois game. Wouldn't read into it at all

Was kind of following the Meath minors this year as there is a line of form between them and our lads. Both got to the final of the Gerry Reilly cup last year, and while we won it after taking a commanding lead early on (8 points), I would not have liked it to go on much longer with Meath finishing stronger only losing by one in the end. We won the Ulster league and championship this year so I expect Meath to do likewise and be competing for All Ireland honours. There is a ruthless side to this Meath set up, even, ahem, losing to Wicklow to knock out Dublin!!
See ya in the final (again) hopefully.

Wish the minors all the best today. Getting to a final means you are up there with the best.
