Replying To dunboynelad:  "That is correct. Great pity but as has been said numerous times on here, not an opportunity you can begrudge someone, they put their lives on hold for their cause."
Well done to yourselves on the win the weekend I always remember your gracious comments in defeat in 2016 and last year. A far hungrier team who look like they've added some steel this year i hope yee do the business although summerhill will be a tough test and if lenihan is going travelling next year then surely this is d-day for dunboyne.

Did I bring up Donal leaving? No , I responded to what others wrote. So in that context I did not deviate from the topic. So jog on

Many thanks sir, and indeed there is no shortage of respect for Simonstown in Dunboyne. Never easy to be on the wrong end of a classic but they were a privilege to experience, and as was said at the time would have been fitting finals. No doubt there'll be many more in the future.

Just want to wish both summerhill and dunboyne well in the final. Looking forward to a cracking game, I have a slight favour for dunboyne just cause I know more people from there than I would from summerhill, and also for furlong . The main thing I want is to see the eventual winner give Leinster a good crack.
Again best wishes to both.

Just hope Summerhill show up this year, they are a great traditional club who get the best out of what they have. The club have given youth a chance and are reaping rewards. They will be up against it with Dunboyne having been knocking on the door for past few years. Anyone know why there is a two and a half hour gap between minor and senior ?

Extra time is one reason but not for a two hour cap. It was the same last week in the Hurling Championship Final. I think Dunboyne may have the edge

Don't forget all the ceremonial stuff before the senior Final. About 20/30 minutes worth of stuff with parades and handshakes and the like. Yes it throws in at 3.30 but with all that stuff your talking 3pm they'd need the minors off the pitch by so if the game did go to extra time it would be about 3 when it was over maybe just after 3.

Plus - it allows for people exiting the Minor final and those coming in for the Senior only! Here is hoping that both games are cracking affairs! I'd love to Summerhill win it - great bunch of lads but I wouldn't begrudge Dunboyne the win either, especially having dethroned the champions! I think the Minor will be really close - both DonAsh and Cilles came out of the tougher group and either team would be deserving winners!

Yeah a 2 hour gap is actually not alot when you break it down. 65/ 70 minutes for the game when you include injury time and stoppages. 10/15 minutes half time break. Possibly it'll start a few minutes late which wouldn't be that unusual then 10/15 minutes after the game for Trophy Presentation and speech. That would take you till probably just after 3 and that's not even factoring extra time so I would say that's about right. From a dunbonye point of view the town is buzzing everyone really looking forward to the game. We know we're in for a huge battle as I'm sure summerhill do and can't seeing being much between the teams. Imo it's the 2 best teams in the county this year so if we win we'll be delighted but if we lose we know we lost to a really good side .

Agree - the best 2 teams this year - Dunboyne unbeaten and Summerhill haven't lost since their opening game back in April! Should be a cracker! Best of luck to you!

Looking forward to the Sunday, should be a good game.Think Dunboyne will have too much for them. Summerhill have again got a very handy route to the final, getting the best possible draw in the quarter and semi finals. Simonstown exposed them last year and I expect Dunboyne to do the same this year.

I think that you may be a bit ahead of yourself. Dunboyne were lucky to beat Kells, so at this juncture one cannot be sure who the best two are. Some folk were posting that the last match had the two best teams. I think that Dunboyne could shade it but I'm not into predictions as anything can happen in a final and how a team gets there will count for little on the day. The best of luck to both teams.

The fact that they are in the final and they did beat Kells suggests they are at least in the best 2! And as I have no allegiance to either team - in fact I would have rathered see Kells in the final - I think the last two teams standing deserve that recognition!

Minor is diwn for 1 o clock throw in on Hogan stand fixtures, must be incorrect or else they have shifted it to 1.30

Congratulations Dunboyne, couldn't make the game but a worthy win by the sounds of it. Felt awful sorry for Barry Dardis everything sounded as if it was going wrong for him today. Let's all get behind Dunboyne in Leinster now, hopefully they can put a good challenge together

Completely agree. Dunboyne now become Meath. Cathal Finn had a great game and deserves another look at.
