Meath V Louth

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

While this is a local derby and Louth will raise their game, Meath really should be winning this game without any fuss. It's easily the worst Louth team in living memory so we should be coming away from the Drogs with the two points on offer.

Overcompensation

Excessive compensation, especially the exertion of effort beyond what is needed to compensate for a physical or psychological characteristic or defect. An extreme neurotic striving for power or prestige because of a feeling of inferiority.

Why why??????

3.00pm on a Saturday afternoon. Feck me, the GAA dont think at all, of the players, management set ups, never mind the mere supporter. They should have put the match on Good Friday for God's sake!

The match was cancelled/postponed twice but a complete lack of respect for the players management etc. was shown, by asking them to be ready for Bank Holiday Monday. Lives are being lived outside of Football.

Why not go Easter Sunday? People have work, commitments etc. If they wanted to go Saturday, why not play it Saturday evening, like 6pm.

I know that I probably wont be able to go unless personal commitments arranged (on pretends of the match being Sunday afternoon) are able to be changed, but unlikely. I dont know anymore!!!

Very frustrated!!

Rant over!

David Easter Saturday actually suits me better to go because I have family commitments on Sunday and I did not know weather I would of able to get the match. Saturday at 6.00 pm is a no go because there are no floodlights in Drogheda and it would be pitch black around 7.00 pm. The bottom line is no matter what day or what time the match is on at you cannot suit or please everyone. At least it will be on LMFM for you.

With the clocks changing last Sunday morning a 6pm throw-in time would have been more suitable I'd imagine. Again the GAA don't think of the supporters not to mention players and management

I know the lack of floodlights in Drogheda (or Navan if it was an option) is problematic but I think a 6pm throw was an option. It wasnt dark this evening until about 8.15pm. (I posted not long after coming in from garden and getting cleaned up).

I know no matter what time, day or date was fixed it wouldn't suit all, but evening throw ins are generally better than afternoons. It's just as people who are working can do so for a half day or finish an hour early etc. If your at family engagements like communicans, children birthday parties, these are normally early afternoons and if anniversaries, or more mature birthday parties, they are normally night events.

Im just stating an opinion. So why 3pm

I thought myself thrown in would have been 6pm with the bright evenings. Maybe something to do with what the players want? After all it is a bank holiday and we all know they didnt get much of one the last time this game was to be played.

Well one thing is for sure.....what the players wanted was the very last thing that would have been considered by the powers that be
