Many good people with brains in their heads have long lost interest in that club at this stage, left the asylum to be run by the lunatics.

No i actually have great time for Meath hill. Longwood will be the crunch match for them. I hope i am wrong on this one but i am basing it on how hard they found it to beat a poor Moylough outfit in junior final last year. Any team stepping up finds it tough usually. Just look at St Colmcilles

Dont see Meath Hill going down, lot of good young players mixed with a few very experienced. They got a good group also and will fancy their chances of getting out of it, their localish derby with Syddan in round 2 could be crucial to both teams years, I wonder where that will be played?????...

Meath Hill will struggle. There are no easy groups and Syddan will see this game as a banker

Slane won't be anywhere near it with Podge MacGowan out injured Simonstown and Kilbride will be the teams to beat. Belt (Meath) - Posts: 205 - 08/03/2018 13:48:13 2082691 Link 0 |
What's going wrong with Blackhall? Dual Senior club in fairness to them Belt (Meath) - Posts: 205 - 08/03/2018 13:50:49 2082694 Link 0 |
Not for much longer,They have no underage hurling teams what's so ever which is a disgrace for a senior hurling club. The football is no better.they have to join with moynalvey to field underage football teams.very badly run club from what I hear bobjaffacake (Meath) - Posts: 1398 - 08/03/2018 16:29:00 2082752 Link 0 |
dont think its a banker by any stretch, but agree Syddan are favourites, think Meath Hill might spring a surprise or 2 along the way, though having to play there beloved neighbours the week before the start of the championship in the Tailteann Cup Final is not ideal, even though they will beat them by a point a man

Think Meath Hill might surprise a few people, dont forget they have been playing in Div 2 of the league for the past two years. Also, longroadback, playing Drum wouldnt be the worst thing for them, itll be like a championship match so as long as they dont pick up knock or suspensions itll be great prep fro them in my opinion juicy (Meath) - Posts: 384 - 08/03/2018 16:52:27 2082760 Link 0 |
Agree... it will certainly have championship intensity but think Drumcondrath struggling badly this year, struggled to get a team to play recent A league game.

Wow! I knew it was bad in batterstown but didn't think that bad. On another note, when looking through the fixtures, groups etc I noticed St. Pauls are Junior C. Very disappointing for them. I didnt know they were relegated from Junior B last year. Is there not a divide between themselves & Dunboyne? I mean a Parish divide. Surely players in Clonee, The Mayne, Bracetown and surrounds east of M3 all play for St. Pauls and not Dunboyne. David (Meath) - Posts: 566 - 09/03/2018 20:51:33 2083039 Link 1 |
Was there a draw for junior C or D made. Or do those competitions not matter. No sign of them anywhere latouche25 (Meath) - Posts: 325 - 09/03/2018 21:53:26 2083053 Link 0 |
Junior C draw is published along with the others. Junior D tends to be left until last, as they don't know how many teams will be taking part until later in the year. CastleBravo (Meath) - Posts: 1391 - 09/03/2018 22:11:34 2083056 Link 13 |
Yeah i get that. Definitely the draw would always be to play for the "senior" club with prospects of success and if your good enough playing senior club championship. Also the possibility of getting recognised (if good enough) for county development squads and/or senior county panel, is probably greater, with Dunboyne rather than St. Pauls in this instance. However, I would have thought that the county board would have a clear divide between the 2 clubs in the parish. Thus aiding St. Pauls development. For example, and I'm open to correction here, but did an (imaginary) divide not be drawn in Navan, to separate O'Mahonys (town centre & Brews hill side) and Simonstown (east of m2, racecourse road) and then Bective out the Balreask Old side of the town. And sure look how well the three clubs are developing, granted at differing rates and degrees. If this was the case their club (St. Pauls) could evolve under correct structures and guidance from their members. David (Meath) - Posts: 566 - 09/03/2018 22:41:22 2083064 Link 1 |
