Meath V Cork

Worrying times to say the least. More of the same ball recycling scared to take chances, good to see gallagher but he cant find his man on the kickouts.

Not that bad of performance considering.

Down and louth next...Good news is Down and louth would be to the same standard as ourselves,so i am hopeful we might get a draw and a win to avoid the drop to division 3.

Not a bad cork team...Cork will be better when they have their full squad ,though cork played very good stuff at times today.

That was hugely disappointing, tbh I'm at a loss to explain what we trying to do.
2 observations straight off.
1 Colm O'Neill is one of the best players in country.
2. Graham Reilly is our only top drawer player. The rest are good or average.
Very very disappointed.

No movement from players for kick outs and no movement from forwards to support man with ball.

Players all wearing GPS trackers but haven't a clue where goals are...

Why wasn't Brian Conlon taken off early? Anybody else think it comical him standing in the corner for kick outs? Why so slow to make changes to the team?

What is going on?

I agree, but the only player we have that is absolutely top drawer is Reilly, and his time is coming to a end. Honestly I had such high hopes for this year. I won't blame mcenetee as he is the best we have had in years. But the players just aren't in Meath at the moment, what probably got me most today was I actually believe apart from Nash , and maybe jones we fielded the best in county

I'll agree about James as he had a bad day today. But Shane was again good. Well if he has lost dressing room drop them all. Can't always blame managers. The players are the ones who didn't show up. Apart from graham Reilly cos and the aforementioned mcenetee, they looked lost. As for Tobin? Come on

5 changes to the starting line up and 3 changes to the subs. What a load of crap. Nam e a team or don't. I thought at half time we had a chance but Just not able to compete at the breaking ball. When Meath attempted to break Cork employed negative tactics. Just pukking the man down. I hope we dont go to Drogheda needing something because that iis the one thing louth would relish

Andys second year and i dont see any improvement in any department,we will just about survive this year but are certs to go down next year, this new state of the art stadium might be ready for division one football in the long time future.Hard to believe we beat Galway this time last year and they looking like contesting a division 1 final this year, hard to digest

Our next game is against Louth, we have to win and hope Tipp can beat Down same day. Then its a winner stay up in our last game against Down.

What's your verdict on the way the team is set up to play?

I am in agreement, we just are not at the races presently. Just a small stat, the only starting forward who has scored a goal in this campaign is Cillian O'Sullivan in first round v Roscommon. And by coincidence he is our best forward. All other goals have been scored by defenders, midfielders or subs. I have grave reservations about the quality of many of the players but the above stat might be a reflection on the management as well.

Teams like Fermanagh, Monaghan Westmeath etc can get more out of their teams that the combined talent of the players, it is called team spirit. We lack it presently.

if you have to hope for results you are better off in division 3 that's all we are good for

I don't doubt anyone's effort or intentions, either players or management, but clearly something is wrong here, we have suffered heavy defeats to Cavan, Tipp and but for a late goal a heavy defeat today. We are in a horrible place and despite their poor form Louth will go all out next Sunday to hop off us and drag us down to Division 3 with them. I was surprised at all the changes made before the game and I can't see why that should be done, there seems to be an awful lot of chopping and changing going on at the minute which leads me to believe that there is a sense of either panic or an inability to decide on the best starting 15 and best game plan but one thing is sure the game plan employed in the last three games is not what we need, want or can make work. Next Sunday throw the shackles off, go all out attack and utilise the speed and footballers we have, I'd rather loose an open game where we try to play football than loose playing the way we are at the minute. We are in a salvage operation right now and we must produce something in our last two games not just to avoid relegation but to avoid the year being a complete write off altogether

I agree, today demonstrated that Reilly is our best player. He worked his socks off today and took some nice scores. Cillian o' Sullivan also stepped up to the mark in the second half.

For me the game was lost in the 10 minues before and after half time when we lost possession on nearly every kickout. Then about halfway through the second half it was as if a switch went on in the players heads and they fought like tigers for everything but Cork's movement was a lot better.

Also, our movement was very lethargic for a lot of the game, players not showing for passes and players making backward passes.

On a side note there was a really poor crowd in Navan and Cork ordinarily would be a big draw. i think a lot of supporters have given up the ghost on this Meath team.
