Double header may be good but it may leave pitch conditions quite difficult!

The Hurling will be in Trim on Sunday at 1, no chance of a double header in PT, you heard it here first longroadback (Meath) - Posts: 300 - 06/03/2018 11:55:41 2082162 Link 0 |
This will be another tough game, cant see us getting anything again. we have been appalling the last two games and are simply not good for Promotion. This is the first game this year that i am not going too. After the Tipp game it is hard to find any positives. Taking 2 players off in 30 mins of football is simply a Manager power trip . Tobin has been treated very poorly in my eyes , i simply cant understand these tactics of having no full forwards and hitting a wall at the 30 metre line every game where Tipp and Cavan simply played football getting the ball into the forwards with one kick of the ball. Playing this kind of football will get us nowhere. I am hoping we completely change for the championship but highly unlikely at this stage SheridansTry (Meath) - Posts: 168 - 06/03/2018 13:18:54 2082187 Link 3 |
I think the ambition is there but execution of plan has been poor. I think Galway are an example of what Andy is trying to do.

Will be a tough game but we should win by 5/6 points Huge over reaction to those two defeats where the performance simply wasn't good wont go to win. Lot of football yet to be played MeathWawa (Meath) - Posts: 61 - 07/03/2018 04:13:16 2082367 Link 0 |
Look we should just leave our last defeats behind us and get behind the lads again. Im sure the moral wasnt great in camp but we need to be keeping the lads. What happened in Tipp happened, draw a line and move forward. Ok Tobin was taken off when he shouldnt have been but i wouldnt say this would be classed as been treated poorly! They have had a couple of weeks to sort out the tactics and game play. I myself am positive about this game on Sunday and I reckon we will win by at least 4 points. Keep the faith lad...onwards and upwards!!

I think a more determined Meath will be see. On Sunday, expect to win by a couple of points. Won't be easy but we will win. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 17035 - 07/03/2018 22:44:18 2082590 Link 1 |
Yea and the problem is I would say they have spent the last 2 weeks talking tactics tactics tactics....broken down into 10 minute segments.....player by player....where to be standing in the 28th minute......jesus if we can learn something from the dubs let it be this....jim Gavin has a general game plan...the players all know what it is....but individually the players are allowed express themselves and when they are attacking they are free to do so......its painful watching this micromanaged team having every bit of footballing intuition drained out of them....paralysed with fear....and not having a clue what the over complicated game plan they are supposed to be playing even is

Unfortunately I agree with you SheridansTry. We've lost a couple of games away from home, which we always do. However, the preformances have been so abject I fear the worst. We're lucky the Nemo lads will be out. I think which ever team gets beaten will go down with Louth. pauk123 (USA) - Posts: 189 - 08/03/2018 01:35:40 2082602 Link 2 |
we should win by 5 or 6 points I take it you were not in Cavan and tipp then

Again am unlike a lot of posters here who actually root for meath to be beat. They were two bad performances. She has meath ever dominated a league schedule - 88 , 94 99 We always look awful in the league but that is not a valid excuse anymore. Despite the huge over reaction and wishing meath to do bad I see Meath winning on Sunday by 5/6 points MeathWawa (Meath) - Posts: 61 - 08/03/2018 16:17:43 2082748 Link 1 |
this is not the Meath team of the past and please don't insult a man that travelled from the top of Donegal to Tipperary to see Meath play last Saturday week, I always want Meath to win but things are not working out with the team when you say how you feel it don't mean you want your team to lose

You weren't insulted and there are a group of supporters that seem happy when meath lose - they were not happy with MOD and not happy with McEntee. The whole situation is very frustrating for the loyal fans . Lack of underage success is killing us. We can't beat Westmeath/ Kildare at underage so makes it tough to beat them at senior

This time of year different players are been tried .Some adapt better than others as per usual. Therefore team are bound to have performance fluctuations. All went well until last 2 games but can be recovered. Ashrules (Dublin) - Posts: 342 - 09/03/2018 11:06:39 2082902 Link 1 |
Word is positivity from the lads in camp! Honestly thought they would be going into this game with their heads down but apparently they are raring to go and ready to fire at all cylinders...we shall have to wait and see but i do hope this is the case!!
