Replying To ratlag:  "Tomorrow for us as far as I know, players were being told either last night or tonight at training but its normally onlya day or two before hand when Andy releses it to the public, a few games last year he kept it quiet as long as he could if i remember corretly"
Yea you're right he did, just hope he doesn't keep us in suspense for too long. We are all waiting patiently!

Replying To ratlag:  "I'd still stick with close to this team, possibly McMahon in for McKeever as he hasn't played enough with county to have claimed the starting spot, but may have impressed in training challenge games"
Good looking team. Id like to see Tobin starting but not sure who i would take out of your selection.

For me Tobin is the Ollie Murphy like player of this team, the sub who comes on with 20-25 mins left and causes havoc, he doesn't seem to be as effective when starting for Meath in any of the games I've seen him play in

No way Tobin can be compared to Ollie Murphy. Murphy was one of the best corner forwards to play the game.

I'm comparing him in the way I feel he is best used, not in his ability

I dont think Tobin can be compared to Ollie Murphy. I cant remember Oliie been a super sub. Started almost every game. Where you thinking of some else Jodi devine maybe ?

I agree to the point that when we need him to step up for us 2nd half and come on as sub be is capable of doing so.

That is up there with one of the most outrageous statements i have seen here. You may as well compare Bob o malley with Micky Burke. Lets be realistic here and i know for most that is asking a lot. Sean Tobin was anonymous for his club last year and if i recall he didn't feature for Simonstown in the 2016 run in, (when they were playing well). To compare hlm to a complete footballer who is known the land over is obscene.

Next you will compare this current team to the Kerry side of the late seventies.

Please read the post and actually use your head when interpretting it. I said he is similar to Ollie Murphy when he was used as a super sub in the last 20-25 minutes of games to have an impact. Ollie was used in this way in the early 2000's (say 02/03 onwards) near the end of his career with the county team . Tobin I see as someone who doesn't impact the game when starting but when brought on in second half is energetic, a handful and able to kick a score.

There was no comparing Murphy to Tobin as an overall player at any stage. I'm comparing Ollie when he wasn't starting anymore but being used to impact a game to the only was I see Tobin being used at the minute.

Gallagher
Burke
McGill
Keoghan
McEntee
Power
Conlon
Menton
Flanagan
McEntee/Brennan
O'Sullivan
Joey Wallace
Biggy
Lenihan
McKeever

I'd see Biggy being brought out to a 4 man half forward line and a 2 man inside forward line, and possibly McMahon starting ahead of McKeever.

I should have been clearer in my ionitial comparison of Tobin to ollie Murphy, its Tobin now compared to how Murphy was used from say 2002/2003 until his retirment in 06 I think it was.

Ahhh i see, i would compare him more to Colm o rourke with his left foot. That is Colm o Rourke of 2014 when i seen him play a charity match. Very similar

Its not really, considering my only memories of Ollie Murphy are of him as a sub, then it fairly understandable.....some of us posters are young enough and still playing ball at the minute ;-)
