Replying To royaldunne:  "Into athboy onto delvin, through the town in mullingar and head straight through go towards ballymahon (not athlone) and continue straight the whole way till Roscommon town. Take it handy on the roads the n52 is lethal and the road from mullingar onwards is straight in places but also very dangerous. Safe journey."
Lethal road defo drive with great caution

No......Andy would be looking for a captain for a 3 year term for continuity purposes. The role is too important to be messing around with it every year if it can be avoided.

2 big results today to start the division - Clare drawing with Cavan, and Tipperary surprisingly beating Cork. This really is a division where anyone can beat anyone else. If we can get anything out of tomorrows match, it will be huge. Here's hoping that RD's optimism is well placed.
Bookies heavily favour the Rossies. Roscommon 1/2 Meath 11/5 Draw 8/1
although I have said that Roscommon are favourites to win, those odds seem a little long on Meath. You can get similar odds on Sligo winning away to Armagh, and there is no way I would put us at that sort of underdogs. Since I am working all weekend and won't get out, I reckon I'll lump the weekends drinking money on Meath to cause an upset. C'mon the Royals!

Didn't do Boylan any harm.

Sean did it with an established team and lets face it better players.... Andy is virtually building from a low base no comparison......Ideally a captain is a corner stone you build from foundation up.......Anyway...

Better than him? Conlon was our best player against Donegal as a 19 year old and has played a major role in winning 2 Keegan cups from no.6.

Its going to be tough without lenihan He was our most consistent forward last year. Also he looked very sharp against Wicklow. Big responsibility on free taking on Brennan, I presume he will be taking them. Also I watched the Cork v Tipp last night and ground look to be cutting up bad in places and that game was in Páirc Uí Chaoimh so I reckon Hyde will be similar surface.

Not so worried about how we start-- how we finish is all that matters. Conlon will be in the mix. Won't be surprised if we see changes before throw in.

Me either, it's a 20 man game been a sub is as important , and more important sometimes than a starter. The finishing 15 will be interesting.

Very heavy mist here at moment, will make for a slippery surface. Hurlers were slipping quite a bit. Com on the royal

That was poor all round think it was power who missed a sitter all he had to do was palm the ball to empty net , caught it instead and kicked by this time goalie and players had gathered around him, menton having a stormer. Don't like saying players need to be taken off , especially new ones but Thomas oreilly is just not up to speed today. Now apart from menton and McGill we have few stand out today, but Thomas is having a bad game. Tobin needs to be on.

Four points up in the closing stages and we managed to throw the game away. It's tough to take to be heading home with only one point and not two.
