Close enough to strongest team with maybe 2 at most 3 changes.

Have to agree with you.........and I always had doubts about Power at No 6.

agreed ....if those 3 players are fit he can adjust pretty quickly anyway. Always very difficult to know who is on or off when we don't have all the relevant info. Players on the bench that i might pick to start is irrelevant Anyway it is his approach to this match by naming a strong team i totally support. nobull456 (Meath) - Posts: 841 - 20/01/2018 11:26:40 2069425 Link 0 |
Thought he was very poor against Longford !! I would have Keoghan Power and Conlan as half back line in the league

I agree regarding McEntee. Poor distribution last time out. I thought Douglas was good on the wing against Wicklow. Also, Power is worth more game time. Would he be injued? I dont see him on the subs either. oldsam_newsam (Meath) - Posts: 638 - 20/01/2018 12:35:54 2069432 Link 2 |
The truth can be hard to take

My point is that it was a pathetic comment alluding that he only there cause he is his son. Where better to play than in obc? A fair few lads had a poor enough game last week and are included this, to suggest he just there cause of who he is is a cheep shot at our management, and furthermore is untrue, as Andy will treat Shane same as any other player. If I was to hazard a guess it is a chancyto restate his claim that he is given him before league starts. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 17035 - 20/01/2018 13:34:31 2069449 Link 1 |
Not much I agree with RD on but I will with this, I have heard this type of comment from a lot of lads and I then ask them who would you like to see replace him and they can't give me an answer. We have been stuck for half backs in the last few years and with Harnan gone it won't help things. Douglas isn't a bad player but after seeing him play a few games I still think Shane McEntee is slightly better than him. I think the half back line for league/championship should be Conlon, Power and McEntee. Keogan is a decent half back but needed more at corner back I think. It seems Meath football fans are always not happy with something. If this isn't a good year I can see a lot of "fans" calling for Andy's head but that would do more harm than good in my opinion. And I wouldn't agree often with yourself either. But on this I am 100% in agreement.

No truth is easy to take , blatant lies is what I can't take.

Lot of Meath people seem to forget he scored against Kildare, Sligo and Donegal last year and was along with Mickey Burke and Donal Lenihan probably our most consistent player in championship

How do we know that Power isn't injured anyway? ziggy320001 (Meath) - Posts: 2432 - 20/01/2018 15:40:39 2069470 Link 1 |
Ok strong team, can only see 2-3 changes for league game next year. Royalio11 (Meath) - Posts: 750 - 20/01/2018 15:47:43 2069471 Link 2 |
Exactly well said approach and HOW we play is the priority. WHO plays i trust Andy and selectors to monitor, and adjust as required. We want to win full stop|

I know I wasn't asked but Burke for Glynn and Lenihan for Brennan
LeitrimRoyal99 (Meath) - Posts: 833 - 20/01/2018 19:47:25 2069507 Link 13 |
As Leitrim Royal said: Burke for Glynn Lenihan for Brennan Potentially Rooney for Flanagan (fitness may be against Rooney) or Colgan out for Gallagher in Goals. Essentially the team picked tomorrow is 90% our league team. Royalio11 (Meath) - Posts: 750 - 20/01/2018 21:05:06 2069525 Link 0 |
