There's an article in the Chronicle online stating Andy is considering withdrawal from this final as an option if it's to go ahead in portlaoise, citing player safety as a reason. Basically saying there's a number of issues, main one beingbut to play a second match on a pitch in current weather conditions increases the chance of injury.

Ah but..........this is the amusement element of this forum.....speculation ,and game playing (i want to see this lad playing etc.etc),
Even allowing for the fact of pre season activity, but coming off such a poor performance last Sunday i expect Andy to play best available players against Westmeath. Why would he "rest" players rather than try to gain momentum with plans and even practise for the more important Rossies match? Would be a different story if we had refined our preparation in the key areas. We all know that is not the case.

I agree with him also at 4pm this time of year?
Meath and Westmeath both agreed to play in Mullingar, day far Leinster council have refused.
Both counties disrespected here and both should withdraw.

If the Leinster Council refuse to move it then both coaunties should refuse to play the fixture. Complete disrespect to both counties

Its a sad state of affairs when our Council would rather keep a TV company happy than its provinces teams & supporters. Not even happy but when safety is a factor as well they should be ashamed of themselves. I see they are saying if the pitch is bad then Mullingar is plan no 2 which means that they can actually change it but wont. Shame on them.

Maybe its tied up legally. Ridiculous that they got into this agreement in the first place but it is probably too late to roll back now.

Sounds like the weather is cat for Saturday and Sunday. So seems like games will called off no matter where they are played. But 4 O#clock in seems defo off Portloaise after a game has already been played. If first game in Loais gets played at all.

Knowing the GAA they'll have it as the opener to the league game!

Exactly..

Both counties should refuse to play it. Leinster council once again proving that they don't care about Leinster. Once Dublin are doing the business they are happy.

Probably postpone it until the first week that there is a break in league games.
