By POR's reckoning, why would anybody bother doing anything, for 99% of the population they have no chance of being the very best at what they do, whats so wrong with being the best you can be? by hard work, dedication and all that you can. longroadback (Meath) - Posts: 300 - 09/05/2018 12:30:14 2097523 Link 2 |

Dont know meself and ive a feeling its going to keep coming up but line should just be drawn under it now. Yea id say players are sick of hearing it aswell. Time for full concentration on the Championship.

Are we Expecting team announcement Friday? royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 17035 - 09/05/2018 17:03:18 2097627 Link 1 |
Absolutely, it shows a rotten defeatist mentality, that Andy is trying to change. He's trying to change the culture in Meath, and then Paddy comes out with that..

I think that you are over stating the importance of what has been said. Players get on with the job of training and playing and are not influenced by sideshows. Stating that it will effect future players is overstretching it a bit. It's time to move on.

I'd say it will be a mixture players like Cian O'Brien etc will be given game time, is their a need to start biggy keoghan? I personally wouldn't I'd bring them on in second half. But that's just my opinion.

Ok on a entirely different aspect of this. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 17035 - 09/05/2018 18:56:04 2097656 Link 2 |
Indeed...and if that's the attitude is it any wonder that we appear to have gone soft? Losing massive leads etc

Yeah, its overstating it I suppose but I would see the senior players as setting an example for the lads coming through...anyway, agree- time to move on

Maybe they could both collect it? One hand each to raise the cup. But Brian should make it clear to him when we win Leinster that he will be the one lifting the cup. Barney123 (Meath) - Posts: 676 - 10/05/2018 07:17:12 2097741 Link 12 |
Byrne cup or not Meath need to win this and get some momentum before Longford. westmeath will play better against us than they will play in the their first round of championship , the ref will be the usual anti meath but meath should and have to win. We wont see too many from Championship line up for this one. Biggy, Keogan, Menton to name a few i reckon we wont see. Its more like a challenge game with a bit of silver at the end of it at this stage. Loyalroyal17 (Meath) - Posts: 627 - 10/05/2018 11:32:34 2097796 Link 0 |
Forget about this challenge game fella and get yourself better, in time for championship! As for the game itself, considering the ridiculous format of the year the GAA set out, we ought to be treating it as a championship game selection and intensity wise you'd imagine. The timing has worked out well for both teams in that regard. dunboynelad (Meath) - Posts: 198 - 10/05/2018 11:44:07 2097803 Link 1 |
Ahh cheers for that. I honestly feel like I've been hit by a bus, outa work hardly able to get out of bed. But sure hoganstand is just about keeping me sane. Hope to be feeling better for Sunday. But I won't rush out if I not , even though it's close to me. Just my luck lol

Any word on a team announcement for Sunday? Surely we deserve to know the team a couple of days in advance of the game. So hopefully the team is named asap and this nonsense of namming dummy teams stops. RoylerKing (Meath) - Posts: 809 - 11/05/2018 08:21:58 2098018 Link 4 |
