If ANY player for ANY reason can't or won't commit to the tough slog that is required to move us forward so be it. No individual as a manager will be able to please ALL the players ALL the time. Management is about making decisions that may not always be popular, and may sometimes be proven wrong with the benefit of hindsight. Management is equally about learning from mistakes ,and leading people forward. Motivational skills, stamina and patience essential. I support Andy fully in his efforts for the next year. I accept he is not yet a course and distance winner at this level. If any players move in or out of the panel at this point, the management team are best placed to deal or learn from it not me or any poster here. nobull456 (Meath) - Posts: 841 - 06/01/2018 18:54:47 2067122 Link 1 |

On McKeever and Dardis, both injured...McKeever would have started on Wednesday but picked up an injury. Dardis recovering from a hamstring injury and should feature in the not too distant future...looking forward to seeing both in Meath jerseys soon! Of course i believe he will need at least 1 term all things being equal. BUT i said that the last time with Micko .All things were not equal so i changed my views, when i saw same mistakes made repeatedly with mickey mouse excuses. That was before his term was over. However , Andy is said to be more ruthless, and thus maybe better equipped to do the job.

Good to see Donal Keoghan Harry Rooney 2 of our top players named on the team today. But when you look a gulf between Meath and the best in country Dublin with there feet up albeit maybe a training camp in South Africa preparing to be fit around July time it shows the gulf between us. bobkarlgees (Meath) - Posts: 1192 - 07/01/2018 09:31:14 2067150 Link 0 |
That's not only for Meath. Apart from mayo Dublin are so far ahead of everyone else its scary. 4 in a row could well happen this year. But we must focus on ourselves, and should we meet dubs in June then and only then will we look at them.

Well That was a snoozefest..Wicklow are deplorable so nothing learned here!! to be honest If meath played a training match there would have been more intensity..anyway you can only beat whats put in front of you so another Game next week with Hopefully a bit more of a Challenge grahamc9897 (Meath) - Posts: 1083 - 07/01/2018 15:55:23 2067176 Link 12 |
Meath played very well first half. But the opposition was non existent and a junior b team would have beat Wicklow. Hoping next week is a better challenge, as for the players? Can't complain they did what they had to do. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 17035 - 07/01/2018 16:27:41 2067183 Link 0 |
Good to get a few goals but from that stats we need to convert more of our chances and concede less frees.

In fairness lads this would have been us last year in Wicklows shoes without a doubt. They looked how we looked this time last year. Relying on frees to tally up the scoreboard. We need consistency going forward and i thought we would fall apart when he made the 1st changes at 2nd half. Alot of the usual errors we need to work on but i reckon we will get there. With these young lads coming up the ranks that dont have any of our bad habits we have hope. Man of the game for me...Sean Tobin. Tackling looks to b on meaths training sessions looking at today. The kicking from both sides is poor.kennelly looks like could b worth giving time. Mcabe not fit enuf yet but he has eye for goal.kickouts were poor enuf.we better team no doubt will we beat the dubs or kildare with that style of play I think not. Concede less frees....dis u see the frees the ref was giving...come on!! He was trying to make the game more exciting as wicklow couldnt get a point without it been a free 2nd half.
