Given how quiet it is this time of year, its a good chance to see how each team rates across the different grade. Think Ive got all teams and in the correct grade for next yr (slow day in the office) juicy (Meath) - Posts: 384 - 06/12/2017 12:34:03 2064532 Link 0 |
Senior is berween Dunboyne, Tones and Ratoath. All 3 have a lot of quality under 21's and Minors coming through Analyst (Meath) - Posts: 1338 - 06/12/2017 12:57:13 2064536 Link 12 |
After the first 5/6 and bottom 2/3 not a whole lot separates the rest in the middle so they could be in any order really from Moynalvey as far as Colmcilles TakeYourPoints6 (Meath) - Posts: 223 - 06/12/2017 13:03:02 2064539 Link 0 |

Interesting!- if folk keep posting Rathoath and Dunboyne on a continuous basis then one day they will be correct. Underage success does not make senior success a certainty although it is does help. Some players develop into much better players at older age. Ratoath have been successful for the last 10 years at underage with good teams all along, but only got into the senior championship last year (the club were the obvious club of the year followed by the Tones this year). It could be argued that Dun/Ash had one of the best minor teams having won the Leinster minor, they have had some great underage teams over the last 12 plus years and have still not got to the summit- (I suppose one could say that they were a bit unlucky). I predicted last year that the winners would be a team that won it in the last six years (two of those teams competed in the final). Simonstown would have to be favourites having won it this year, but there are no certainties. Not much between the top 5 or 6 teams (not the order that is given on this tread) browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2189 - 06/12/2017 17:57:24 2064559 Link 12 |

bad start to the year for the 3 meath super-clubs. search parties have been sent to south meath in the hope of finding these young superstars after none were sighted in the recent losses to relegation candidates skryne and st. pats. enquires are also ongoing in kilberry and wilkinstown after an 18 point mauling in their recent match where they mustered an impressive 2 points.

No medals given out this time of year. I said in previous posts that the league in Meath is now viewed as a warm up for serious games later in business end of year

There are a couple of things I would say on this! Royalblufill (Meath) - Posts: 284 - 07/02/2018 10:10:04 2074751 Link 0 |
I am laughing at your '3 meath super clubs' remark. I presume you mean Dunboyne, Donaghmore/Ashbourne and Ratoath. What is funny about it is that neither Ashbourne or Ratoath have ever won the Keegan Cup! In fact I think Ratoath are only oin their second year as a Senior Club - hardly grounds to be a super club!! Good man Pat, Intermediate will be very competitive, I think you are close on some of them but miles off on others, time will tell I suppose, Think Oldcastle are the team to watch, will be very disappointed the way the Semi Final went last year, others down the bottom of your rankings will go close to though, all depends on the draw. Ballinabrackey are on the slide in my opinion.

Donaghmore won 3 Senior football titles. When they became Donaghmore Ashbourne it was simply a case of adding Ashbourne to the name. They didn't amalgamate or form a new club.

Duleek and Nobber will be there or thereabouts. Michaels have a lot to do to come anywhere near last years standard Analyst (Meath) - Posts: 1338 - 08/02/2018 19:00:57 2075079 Link 11 |

Is there an enquiry in Simonstown after their 14 point mauling at the hands of unproven whipper snappers from Ratoath ? See Dunboyne and Tones also won. But unlike yourself i wouldn't think any of them are getting over excited

I think Simonstown gave Tones an 18 point absolute mauling the week before so read form that what you want

I wouldn't think there will be an inquiry either! With the county game called off Ratoath were able to field with McGill, Power, Wallace and McMahon - mind you Simonstown fielded with Conlon and McKeever although according to the match report Conlon only lasted about 15 minutes.
