Surely county A-leagues won't begin next weekend?! Hard to see pitches drying out in time...could be mid-February before they get going!

Still makes my stomach sick that we are actually in the same division as Louth. We are so much better than this...lets hope we can get promotion.

Thats a very arrogant statement. We are where we are and the table doesnt lie. I think too many of us are living in the past and looking down on other teams.

I respect Louth and respect what they have done with a much smaller playing pool.

Yes we are where we are unfortunelty and im not living in the past nothing to do with the past, just passing comment about us being compared to Louth, when we are a much better team who are capable of alot more. And yes it does sicken me im afraid.

Fair enough, it's how you feel I suppose.

Agree, results from past few seasons dont make for good reading.

Absolutely. We are where we are because we have not been good enough to be in division 1. Louth are where they are because they were better than the other division 3 teams. The difference between us is smaller that most Meath supporters would like to admit. Recent league positions would suggest that Meath are somewhere between 11th-14th best team in the country. Louth maybe 15th-20th. We may be the slightly better side, but on any given day Louth would be well capable of beating us. Put it this way, if Meath go to drogheda in the 2nd last match, needing a result to get promoted or avoid relegation, would you put the mortgage on a Meath win? I sure as hell wouldn't.

One thing we can be sure of is that it will be late august before any meaningful matches are played. 45 matches to get 18 teams reduced to 9 zzzzzzzzzzz

Itll probably be August before any championship games will be played, cause Andy will not want to let 'his' players play for their clubs.

Not sure about that not all "his" players were allowed play for all their games with their clubs last year...

Can someone please explain to me how the hell St Patricks v St Colmcilles is fixed for this Sat night at 7pm ? It clashes directly with Cavan v Meath !!!! This is totally unfair to players and supporters who have a heavy interest in both games.

In many cases the clubs actually request the games to be played at certain times to suit themselves.

They are dead right as well, championship games are suited around the county team.

Fair enough.... but this obviously benefits one club shockingly more than the other. It looks like one club requested and the other not consulted !!!
