I really have to hand it to the County Board. They fix the final round of A League matches on a bank holiday Monday at 6pm. I tell you something, there must be serious geniuses on that board.
The following weekend is Senior Champ. Talk about putting lads off the sport. I can really see a lot of teams losing players to more organised amateur sports over the next few years.
Beyond belief...

Exactly,

Trim have football Championship and Hurling Championship games withing 3 days of each other. And people on here just keep backing up the fixtures planners as they are getting the games done in a timely fashion. Player welfare has no standing in meath.

Player welfare is non existent. The county board don't care about the club players. ( socially or physically)
A bank holiday weekend, play the games Friday evening. That way players can still enjoy time with their friends and family.

How many players are actually dual? From looking at the teams there doesnt seem to be as many as normal.

Some people will never be happy with the fixtures. Personally think its great to see the schedule right through to the end of the yr. It was followed for the first half of the year so cant see why it wont be followed for rest.

As for games being played on the Bank Holiday Monday evening, this will actually suit a lot of ppl. I know when I go away for a long weekend I go on a Friday or Thursday and am back early/mid afternoon.

The people who are giving out about the fixtures should set up to the plate and get involved because they always seem to have a 'great' ideas about how the fixtures should eb ran

The problem is the county board set the fixtures and then change them with a weeks notice. Lads have holidays booked etc... and then instead of a Friday game which they can play its a Sat, Sun or Monday. I think league should be played out fully before championship starts as Meath are normally knocked out by this time of the year. Then the championship can be set out for official dates, no changes needed. Clubs should be able to play league matches without their count players.

To be honest if any 1st team player has holidays booked for August then questions need to be asked as you know championship is going to be around.(Not the point here though)

Lots of the game changes are down to the clubs themselves actually suiting themselves rather than the county board actually fixing them for a particular day. Perhaps this doesn't get communicated to the players by there clubs who would agree to the change.

I think the fact that there is one game left in the league shows that games are played without county players, again this is something which ppl on here where complaining about earlier in yr when teams weren't playing without county players.

Well Juicy, if Meath where still in the championship there would be no club championship games played at all in July or August if they went on a good run. Also they always play 1 round of Club before Meath play their 1st round which in my opinion is pointless. 1 championship game and the 2nd round is over 2 months later ?? I know clubs do try to accommodate players as best as possible ( weddings etc) but I think the county board need to stand firm with fixtures.

I think the reason for playing 1 round so early is that clubs cant load their second teams with first team players from the off!! This i agree with, but the overall fixture planner is wrong. Lads plan holidays around the original planner which tells them they have a week or two off at the end of July/beginning of August, no questions need to be asked about this at all, its common sense (this is in relation to 6laps post not your own).
Realistically, all leagues COULD be played out by mid July, finals included and not congest the end of the summer/beginning of Autumn.

Even if it does run until October but the planner is set in stone then there wouldn't be as much of an issue, but there was times during the year where teams went 2 weeks without games when nobody had holidays planned.

Looking at the Fixtures page that Hurling fixture is in bold which means a change it was originally in Navan on Saturday or Sunday but it seems Clubs agreed to change it
